Hey all...thanks again Marilyn(my superwoman, ambassador of movie night) for your wonderful organizational skills for movie list...you rock!
Movie night junkies, We are in need of more microwave popcorn. I have enough for another 2 weeks, YIKES...with over 400 kids, it goes fast. My commander is getting a big popcorn maker, but until then, microwave it is. OOoooo and two out of the three air poppers went out on us...I think the 110V here is messed up and it eats those popcorn makers up quickly. The HIMAs said there larger one has a crack now...Ugh! As soon as I get the "industrial one", I will let you know. Commander said he is "working on it"! We also need more bubblegum, the kids favorite is bubblegum and suckers..so that's normally what we run low on.
We are trying new location tonight for Shrek 2. I will update you tomorrow and let you know how it turns out. I am excited about the new changes and I know the kids will like it. The sound system should be much better in that room. We are working on getting link so you can see slide show from movie night this week...pray that it works..I can't wait until you see it!
In His matchless name,
Mom Tara

I have a gross of microwave popcorn on the way (shipped direct from the vendor) and two airpoppers should be shipping out tomorrow BUT they're going parcel post and will most likely not make it there before Tara runs out (also, a gross isn't enough for 400 kids).
Can anyone else get more microwave popcorn?

Lynne, Tom and JoCee; Thanks so much for sending microwave popcorn and air poppers. I'll be looking for packages!
Guess what MNJ.. we should be getting a popcorn maker (INDUSTRIAL SIZE) in "approximately two weeks"...I will keep praying and hoping! I will let you know as soon as it happens and then let you know what we need for it (inventory-wise). I will use up all microwave popcorn in the interim, also.
I do have a couple of updates on movie night...first, we had 301 kids last week..we watched Shrek 2 and we are going to watch Shrek 3, this week. They adore Shrek!
Second, movie night has officially changed to a huge classroom on base and the kids love it. The facility worked well with our growing numbers. There is, also, talk that they are working on a huge screen for outside on an open basketball court..like a drive-in, but more like a walk-in..LOL...we will see. The classroom is perfect for now. I did miss the open air feel of Rusty's Grill though.
The kids are so great. I shared my chair last week with about 6 kids..they love to sit right on top of us..love them all!. JoVan (orthopedic surgeon--A/V, slide show guru) was blanketed in kids last week also. He had alot of pictures taken with him. They love to take pictures with "Sir Jo". I think it is so cute how they call us "maam"(MOM) and "sir". I will get onto Sir Jo today about getting our slide show on our forum. We are working on it, I promise!
The Filipino Marines are now taking a part in movie night and are going to lead children in their National Anthem and such..building good relationships. There is talk of them "taking over" movie night,,,but we will be there to assist and train and ENJOY, continuing to support it with our time, love and donations from our Movie Night Junkies...b/c without you where would we be! It is basically to support our mission here...rather than "fish for them...teach them to fish" and in winning 'hearts and minds', they can learn to not only trust us, but trust their own military/ government. I will let you know as things progress and change.
God's Strength and Peace,
MOM Tara

Movie Night Junkies,
WE HAVE A NEW 8oz POPCORN MAKER! We NEED Popcorn oil, popcorn salt.We only have one bottle of each. We do have enough microwave to get us through another 2 weeks. We are running low on variety candy, tootsie rolls, bubble gum...good on dumdums and kernels for now.
We got the popper today and already started popping tonight. The docs are in the kitchen popping away as I type! We definitely have a team effort going on. They keep coming in and telling what we need! Its like Im at home, with MY boys! LOL It smells like a cinema in here. I keep expecting a knock on the door to ask about movie times...
Thanks again for all of your support. YOU ROCK!

Hey Marilyn( THE ambassador of MNJ),
We had 300 kiddos tonight for Shrek 3 and things went smoothly. We plan to show CARS next week...can't wait..one of my favorites (oooo, I guess it is not all about me, right?) I know the kids will enjoy it, also. As soon as we get things running well, something changes...like new place, new popcorn machine, new people...but all good things so I am HAPPY. I don't mind change when it is for the GOOD of our kids. I think our numbers are staying around 300 b/c of religious holiday here until Oct..then, I am almost certain they will pick up again. I have to say...300 is still ALOT! We love each and every one of them. When we sit down to watch movie they pile on our laps and around us. I am so blessed to be smothered in such innocent love...it makes everything we are doing here worth it.
Thanks Marty and support team for hyperlink! I agree, You rock!
MOM Tara...signing off after a FANTASTIC movie night in the Phillipines...God's strength to you all!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gcTqd-rF7o
If this doesn't pull it up, go to youtube website and Search ( Camp Bautista Kids Movie Night)
I hope you all enjoy. Thanks for all your support and bringing smiles to all of these kids faces. We play this video before every movie night after their Filipino National Anthem. They love taking pictures and seeing themselves on the big screen!

Oh, Tara -- thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!! And a great big THANK YOU to "Sir Jo"!!! This is so wonderful to see and share --
A friend I made through the Forum told me once, when I told him how wonderful I felt after sending a whole load of boxes out (I was exhausted and could barely make it up the steps, but I felt WONDERFUL!) -- told me this -- "Don't you know? That feeling? That's God's way of saying "Thank you!" Well, watching this and seeing those beautiful children and those gloriously bright big smiles, God just said "Thank you" to me -- I hope all my Movie Night Junkie friends hear his Thank you, too, when you see this.
Love to all,
--Marilyn

Jo,
I am so glad you liked the video! We do have Transformers as part of the FST movies (but didnt incluede b/c as you said, a little "too mature for the group") I think George of the Jungle would be perfect.
We received both boxes with microwave bowl poppers...they are awesome! Thanks so much for the fruit snacks and popcorn also. We used our new BIG popper last night and it worked really well. It has a small kettle (8 oz) so it takes a couple of cycles..but the commander already talking about getting bigger one! He is working hard to make movie night spectacular!
Thanks again, JoCee! I loved the picture album also..and measuring cups...we had plastic ones here and the measurement print rubbed off..so I've been guessing!
You have blessed us (once again),
Mom Tara and FST movie night posse'

Kristen,
We don't have Muppets take Manhattan yet..so yes, please send..and thank you! We are wanting to add cartoons..short ones and we will play several in a row at movie night. Alot of the kids have seen some of the newer ones that we are showing, so we want to hold their attention with the "oldies but goodies". Any ideas??
Tom H and Lynn B,
Special thanks to you. Received two boxes from ya'll yesterday..popcorn, suckers, gum, bags and wash clothes..thanks so much..We appreciate all you do for movie night!..the new washcloth will come in handy in our kitchen and so colorful . We are actually using hand sanatizer at movie night so they get squirt, rub hands and go for the popcorn(no washclothes needed)..but we are definitely putting them to good use in our kitchen area...so thanks for sending.
Movie Night Junkies,
We had 307 children last night. We showed Happy Feet and they loved the singing and diving parts of the movie. I am so glad you all enjoyed the youtube video. The kids love it too! We are still in need of variety candy and popcorn oil and salt, if possible. Thanks for all you do.
God's strength,
Ma'am Tara, Sir Jo, Sir Brian, Sir Rick and Sir Vance!
