    Re: Movie Night!

Tara -- my dear -- I didn't mean to make you cry -- but, if I did, I hope they were warm, happy tears Smile  I do know what you mean, because when my friend told me that, I teared up, too.

So -- you just hug God's thank you to yourself, Mom Tara -- as I hug mine -- and I hope all my Junkie friends hold theirs.  It's all, all sooooo GOOD!!

Blessings on you and your crew -- and on those beautiful children Smile

    Love,
    --Marilyn

    Re: Movie Night!

    Tara,

Thanks again to you and all of the movie night workers. I am sorry it has taken so long, but Suzanne and I shipped three large flat rate boxes to you today. Two have candy (a total of 1,000 pieces of hard candy, and 600 lollipops) as well as some microwave soup bowls and granola bars. The third is sixteen cans of vegetables, more granola bars, and four bags of jerky.

    Keep up the good work,
    David & Suzanne

    Re: Movie Night!

    David & Suzanne,

Thanks so much for sending snacks, veges and candy. I will be on the lookout for boxes in a week or so.

We had 211 kiddos tonight; we watched Tom and Jerry and some old cartoons. It was great. They loved all the good oldies but goodies!

We are getting lots of help from Filipino Marines and Special Ops guys..so things are going smoothly. It rained hard right as kids were coming in;  Im sure it hindered some from showing up. Our numbers are staying closer to 300 now that school is well under way..unless holiday, then 400+...We always prepare for 400, just in case. They added fans and bigger speakers to our new theater, also. Our popcorn machine is working well and it makes life a whole lot easier. Yeah for our commander!

Thanks again for all your support; Movie Night Junkies are the best people, EVER!

Ma'am Tara, Sir(s) Jo, Brian, Vance and Rick

    Marilyn,

We received the box of chocolate (Johnny's box) and lots and lots of suckers/gum. The cards from the assisted living community were awesome and very creative. I will write them a card to let them know how much we appreciate them and their support.

Thanks so much, Marilyn. You are such a blessing!

    God's strength,

    Mom T.

    Re: Movie Night!

Hi, Tara!  WOW!  You got that shipment really fast this time around!  I'm so glad.  Of course you know, I have more to send -- candy sales are GREAT this time of year Stick out tongue

I am glad you liked the cards.  Gang -- these cards were made by residents of an assisted living center in my community.  Many of them have visual and physical difficulties, and have had strokes and could hardly write, but were DETERMINED to send cards to our troops.  The activities director said that quite a few are Vets themselves, and shared stories of their experiences as they were working on the cards -- turned out to be an extremely meaningful project for them in many ways.  I'm really proud of them for paying it forward Yes

They will so appreciate a card from you, Tara -- thank you so much!

Say hi to everyone for me and my love to all!

    --Marilyn

    Re: Movie Night!

Hey guys!  I haven't been in touch with Tara in weeks-I'm so bad!!!  I'm so excited to see her post!  I am wondering though, can you junkies help me out with popcorn oil?  I looked in my grocery store by the popcorn and just didn't find it.  Is there a brand or a certain kind of oil (salt too, for that matter) I should look for?  Where do you usually find it?  Near the popcorn, or near the oil/salt?  You wouldn't think this would be rocket science... LOL

    Re: Movie Night!

Hello, my Junkie Girlfriend Kristen!!!  How are you?????  Haven't talked to you in ages!!!!

Tara's post is GREAT!  And I LOVE the matching shirts Big Smile  They all look MAH-vah-lus!!!

I've seen popcorn oil and popcorn salt in my grocery store in the same section as the popcorn. You can also find it online (search popcorn supplies).  (Course -- no way of knowing if they ship APO/FPO.)  Another thought I had -- not being a popcorn gourmet at ALL -- does it have to be specifically "popcorn" oil?  Could canola cooking oil be used instead?  Really just asking here.

Take care, my Movie Night Junkie Friends!

    Love,
    --Marilyn Cool
