"Free" - Project Bore Snake - See Details

I apologize if this has been posted before. . I did a search and didn't find it. .  .

Project Bore Snake  www.projectboresnake.com will send one "Bore Snake" kit to persons currently serving in Iraq or Afghanistan.  FYI, a "Bore Snake" is an item used to clean weapons.  You can either nominate someone, and they will send out the kit as soon as they have the funds to do so. . . or.  .. you can make a donation, and the kits will be sent either right away, or at least sooner, depending upon the amount of your donation.  Each kit contains 8 "Bore Snakes" and you must know the proper size to request, so you will have to contact the person you're supporting and ask them.  You can either specify each Bore Snake size, or they have assortments, but you don't want to select an assortment unless you know that they can use it, so it's still best to contact your person first.  Also, because the good folks at Project Bore Snake are doing this, we don't want to "bombard" them with orders for the same person, because they will only send one kit per person, so again, I want to stress that you contact your person first, and make sure of the size, and they haven't already receive a "free" kit. Below are the sizes, so you can ask.  . . ..

       5.56mm (for M-16/M4 series)
       7.62mm (for M-40/M-14/M-60/M-240b)
       9mm (for M9 sidearm)
      45 cal (for M1911A1 sidearm)
      12.7mm (for .50 BMG)
      12 gauge shotgun

The first time I placed a (donation) order with them (and I wasn't sure what the guys needed), Jim @ Project Boresnake suggested I order Assortment #2. This assortment has one of each, and 3 of the most popular. I continue to send Assortment 2 packages, and so far, everyone has loved them!

    Great reminder, George!

Perfect I know just the group! Now I need to check and see if they still need them or if they know if they got a free kit yet.  I'll even donate on my next chance.  Thank you for the info.

Thanks for the info on this.  I mentioned the website to my son and he immediately went and signed up. He said he would share it with his roommates and others who will find it useful.
