Re: SPC Matt Young - Birthday!

Hi Everyone, I recently learned that our young SPC Matt Young is having a birthday very soon!!!  It will be on July 23rd!!  I know Matt usually doesn’t make a big deal about his birthday, but how about we help make this a special one for him to remember as he will be away from family and home for his 23rd.   Maria

    Thank You All

In the past week or two, I have had an influx of a great amount of packages, which is nonetheless breathtaking.

It is hard to say "Thank You" to all of you for what you do without using those exact words.  Spending so many hours of your days and weeks with us always on your mind I really can't imagine, but I know my family is always on mine and every other soldiers here, so we might have a small idea :) We believe that saying just a "thank you" isn't good enough.  While we may be over here doing our jobs, always know that you are the hearts of us and YOU are what keep them beating throughout the days and nights...

I really can't find any other words to express what I feel and what goes through my mind when I think of you all, I think that is all that can be said.

    ALL QUESTIONS ARE WELCOME!!

    Re: Thank You All

    Hey Matt

When willl you and all those who serve realize you aren't supposed to thank us?! Big Smile

It is our HONOR, and our way to give back by helping support as many as we can. As you have learned, we wish we could take care of every single person. So, if you want to thank us-- then focus on your jobs at hand, kick some serious butt, and come home SAFELY to this great land which you defend and enjoy your families.. THAT is the perfect thank you...

We love helping you all as much as possible.. we can only pray for your safety and pray your familes are well too.

     We love you guys!! Yes

    No More Packages

I just received word that no more packages can be received after September 4th and it takes about a week and a half, at most, for them to arrive.

I will leave it up to you all to make good judgement on when to send them last, just know that I do not know what will happen if one was to arrive here after that date :)

I thank you all for everything you have sent, as well does every soldier here.

I will give you all an update when I receive an update on the volunteer deployment and whether or not I will be going.

    No Deployment

I was just informed that I will not be able to go on the deployment that I volunteered for.  Long story, but that is the end result :)  So I can go home to my wife and son, who I am watching on webcam right now :D

    Brooklyn Born,

You see it the same as I do with my Marine son.  More packages than anyone,  just an opportunity to tell him how much we love him.

    Re: No Deployment

Hi Matt, can't say I'm sorry you didn't get the new deployment (well maybe a tiny bit if you really wanted it), and your wife is probably dancing with that sweet baby.  They grow so fast I'm glad you will be there to watch him.  It's always great when one of our heroes comes to the forum, it really means a lot to us to hear from you and know how you're doing.  Hope you will find a minute now and then after your return home to keep us updated.  You, and all your buddies remain in our prayers.

    Anita
