    Major Yvonne Hudson-Coffee Bar Project!

Debbie (empressfrancis) pointed out some cool photos that Major Hudson posted of some female soldiers scrapbooking (woo hoo! how awesome is that!) in the Wounded Warrior Scrapbook thread under "Special Projects."  I followed Debbie's advice and checked out Major Hudson's post and got more than I bargained for!

They are well into the process of trying to establish a little coffee/drink bar that will be free to service members and provide a little shaded place for them to get a beverage and relax.  She's got some specific requests that could make their project complete, so I thought I would post it here to bring it to everyone's attention.  What a cool project!

She even requests coffee mugs... is anyone thinking what I'm thinking? Wink

    Dear All,

I just sent Major Hudson (Chaplain USA) something for her troops to enjoy at the coffee bar which the troops built and ask for your help to continue my efforts. I used the services at www.vistaprint.com and designed 2 different small post card styles for the coffee bar which has been named God's Grounds- see Major Hudson's postings for her additional needs for the coffee bar. The postcard basic design is the photo of coffee beans and another one which I designed and in large type says " GREETINGS FROM GOD"S GROUNDS". On the reverse side, the text reads " Greetings from God's Grounds, A fine place to rest, always serving the best." I had a total of 350 printed and also purchased the envelopes, I had the vistaprint order sent to me and then sent to Major Hudson since I included some other items for the coffee bar. I envision the troops taking a much needed rest, grabbing a cup of Joe or a slushie and taking a few precious minutes to write home. I don't think the 350 cards will last a long time and perhaps some of you would like to help could continue on by designing more God's Grounds postcards with the slogan of A fine place to rest always serving the best! Get it???? There are many meanings in the slogan...

You don't have to use the mentioned website for printing and maybe you have other sources but this was very easy for me to online. The service was fast and I chose the slowest (least costly) option. They arrived within 2 weeks. Thanks for sprading the word and getting involved, your action will delight many- the troops and all those who receive the postcards!

I was out today and found some nice (inexpensive and PLASTIC) canisters to send to her.   Then I went to a thrift store and found an assortment of spiritual books.   Nothing promoting any religion.   Just some reflective books.    Then of course I wandered into the local Dollar Store and they have something new.   They are CD's with relaxing music.   It is called Body  and Soul.   I got a few.........with harps, piano, flute, violin, ocean waves, etc.   I thought how perfect for anyone stopping in to relax and get a cup of tea/coffee.............and listen to calming/soothing music.    Just wanted to put that out if anyone else wants to get some for their troops/contacts.   I know there are many days I will play music like this in the house just to wind down the grandbabies and help them to sleep.   I also picked up a few little potted plants (again.......PLASTIC) for them to use to decorate the place.   They even come in little pots.    You know it's funny when you go into a store and not quite sure what you want.........and then it all comes together.

Have a great weekend.........I've got alot of packing to do........

    Love peace and blessings...........Anne Marie

Hello all.....just wanted to BUMP this up a bit.   Major (CH) Hudson just posted.   There are some great pics on what they have done over there with their coffee house "GOD'S GROUNDS" .   And today is the grand opening.   So, I'm just putting this out to anyone who wants to support her and her project and a great place for them to relax (if even for a minute), have a cup of coffee, a snack, etc.    We all support in various ways.   I support her, troops in remote areas and those in buildings.   So what I'm saying is that if you feel a call for her cause ..............

Major Hudson says it all......so I will stop....and let you read her post and maybe have you think about supporting her.
