    Hello Rick ~

I am so glad to see you here in the forum!  We all know that you have a Dad that loves and cares for you very much.  Please, know that all of us care deeply for you and all of the other soldiers over there.  Honestly, you brave men are in our thoughts and our prayers every day.

Anything you can tell us about specific gear and things you need would be a great help.  For example, gloves - what brand, colors and if possible the actual "model #".  We want to help you as much as we can.  I do hope that you will keep trying to get listed as a contact!

To all of the families and loved ones of our soldiers who have recently made the ultimate sacrifice ~ my deepest sympathies...

In case you missed tonight's report with Brian Williams.  Here are our boys in the Korengal Valley.  I can't believe our boys are living like this. It is hard to see - be warned.

Thank you for sharing that.  It is very hard to watch knowing someone you love (my son Andrew) is there as we speak.  I can't help feeling sick to my stomach.   Tears are being shed for all the guys and their familes.  This is how they live everyday.  The continued support and love is most appreciated at this time.  Thank you to everyone.  My plea is to keep all of these guys and their familes in your prayers.  We really need it.  GOD IS GOOD AND WILL BRING THEM HOME SOON!!!

As my dear friend and fellow AS junkie says, "We will pray them through this!"  And we will pray you parents through this, too!  God bless all of you and especially your sons.

well, its not a problem at all, i figured i would be more help posting here than being a contact anyway.but if need be, anybody can get ahold of my dad for my info, and adress packages in the same manner as you would a contact, and i will help spread out packages. also, as far as the gloves are concerned... ive been talking with my dad pretty well about em... anything that can keep our hands warm when it gets cold will do... color isnt TOO important, they are fairly lenient on all that here, but the good choices are OD green, foliage green(not sure why they call it that, its just greyStick out tongue) black, and coyote tan/khaki  same with balaclavas. my dad mentioned people wanting to send them... and the same thing applies, just no outrageous colors, and it'll be fine. we do have gear for our head/faces... but its not very good at keeping warm, balaclavas are by far much better.  if there are any questions, again, my dad has my email info, myspace info and so forth, ill be more than glad to answer them. and again, thank you very much for all the support, and take care all.

I saw the story on NBC last night.  My son is Army, currently state-side.  Has been to Afghanistan and Iraq each several times.  I know how important the care packages are.  My heart goes out to the soldiers fighting in Viper Company that were mentioned in the news (Restrepo).  I would love to send a package there.  Is there an address I can use for this?  Or a person on the contact list for them?

Thank you for all you do for us.

Hi there Veem001 - If you go to the "where to send" page and click on the search magnifying glass, then in the address type in Kornegal Outpost, it will show you a list of the guys out there that are listed as contacts.

There are several of us moms and dads on this forum with kids at these outposts.

     Thanks

    Angela

Thanks, I found a young soldier to send a package to.  I'll be getting something out in the next day or two.  I am guessing they don't get mail as regularly as some do.  I am surprised to see no dried fruit.  That is one thing my son always loves.

Again, thanks to you and your soldier for your sacrifices.

    Re: My True Hero

I just saw my son (Andrew) on the Brian Williams Nightly News.  I have to tell you, it was the hardest thing I had to watch.  He was one of the guys in the house in the Village.  God was with him every step of the way.  I would like to express my sympathy to the Penich family.  My heart goes out to you.  May God be with our men there in the Korengal Valley.  Please bring them home soon and safe.

    Re: My True Hero

    Oh Dianna,

This really must have been one of the hardest things that a mother would have to see...  It seems so inadequate to just say that my prayers are with you and your son...  That my heart breaks for the Penich family...  I really want you to know that these feelings are so heartfelt, so deep, so strong...

With the most love possible and more prayers than I have ever prayed,  Kaylynn

    Re: My True Hero

    Kaylynn,

Thank you so much for your support.  It has been a hard week for Andrew.  He called last night was said he was doing better.  The only thing I can do is be his support and let him know God is in control and is his protector.  You know hearing it from him is one thing, actually seeing the film and seeing his face on tv is another.  I just sat here and cried.  I know Andrew will be ok, I just pray that everyone will continue their prayers for these wonderful warriors.  They are sacrificing so much.  Spread the word, we need more prayers for our guys in the Korengal Valley.  They need it.

    Hugs

    Dianna

My prayers are with all of our guys and the families at home, too.  I wish I could do more than I am, but everyday you are all in my prayers.
