We can only hope that this means things have slowed down a bit for them out there.

    Re: Korengal Outpost, Afghanistan

I was wondering, all of our Korengal thread contacts right now are B co. and a little HHC I think. And I know the plate carrier/gear guys threads are covering the Cav unit.

But, last year with the 173rd, C and D co were also in the Valley. I searched on the contacts page and found one C co listing for this year... Jason M Kirk.... I know the name of his base is where Justin Crivello was for part of last year. Justin was D co. Anyone know what their conditions are? Is this Korengal? I remember the other companies needing to be included in our support efforts then.  I don't want to miss a whole group of our guys!!

DONNA - glad Garrett is liking his new digs.  No I haven't heard from Christopher.   Don't worry about giving me his e-mail, he has enough to think about without worrying about responding,  I'll just bug you if I need to know something.  LOL

SHELLY - I have one in A Trp,  and one in Engineers, rest are B Co and CAV   don't have info on other locations.

Maybe some of the family members can clue us in if we're missing other groups.

Ricksdad, I can't use the "new" format but can usually get in using the old. Have you tried both?

    Re: Korengal Outpost, Afghanistan

Good morning all!!  I'm still in the newbie stage on this site so  have a few questions.  Here goes...

    1.  I see that ya'll are able to read messages from our guys.  Are they sending you private emails or is there a place in AAUSS where I can see their messages too?

    2.  If I go to the main page of AAUSS, I am not able to find my way back to this thread & their pages look completely different from this one.

    3.  When I signed up for a soldier, I was given Steve Halase' name & address.  Then I became confused as names started coming up.  Since I wanted my first big shipment to go to Ristrepo, somebody told me that Joshua Adams would be the contact.  So I've been sending all my boxes to him, with Rick DeWater as backup on the claim form.  Am I doing this stuff correctly?

    4.  Last but not least...Circuit City, in my town, is willing to put out a donation box to collect monies from their employees & customers that wish to donate & is fairly comfortable about making it an ongoing thing, though we're gonna test it out for 2 weeks first.  I did get some information from somebody named "door?" that said we can solicit for assistance but on a personal level, not under the umbrella of AAUSS.  Well, CC is asking if I can provide a poster.  I noticed on that DailyLife website, where all the photos are being shared, that there area a couple of compelling photos but does not show the identity of the particular soldier.  Do you think it would be ok to use that on the poster?  I would really hate to miss out on a golden opportunity to secure assistance from my community because I didn't "sell" our guys well enough.  But I don't want to disrespect their privacy or annonymity either.  Some feedback would be greatly appreciated here.  Oh, did I mention that I need to come up with this poster THIS WEEKEND?

I look forward to hearing from somebody soon.  In the meantime, have a terrific day!!

    Big Hugs!
    Ann

    Re: Korengal Outpost, Afghanistan

    Hi Ann,

1- These are usually private emails we exchange with our contacts if they choose to correspond with us, but we all tend share the info where appropriate :)

2- Not sure what AAUSS is, maybe a site you used to get to Anysoldier? the homepage for this site is www.anysoldier.com the "Where to Send" page is where you'll request addressses.

3- Halase is on Dallas. If you would like to support another soldier too, request that contact's address so you know you are addressing the packages right. Adams would get you where you want, but don't just use Steve's address, get Josh's.

4- On the Anysoldier site her, you can visit the pages called ... About Us, News and Sales pages there are a variety of flyers, cds and even a big sign that can be used. Anything else would jsut need to be run by Marty (marty@anysoldier.com) and the pictures we've been looking at recently are from a professional photographer out there right now, I'd imagine you'll need his permission to use those images. Great job getting your community involved! There are a few threads around that junkies have shared their experiences with that you might want to search up too :)

    Hope that helps, Shelly

There is a DVD/CD that you can order to promote anysoldier.com under the sales tab. $4.50

Perhaps Marty would have a photo or two that could be emailed to you for this weekend.

The professional photographer pictures would be under copyright, so yes you would need their permission.

    Hi Ashley,

I am trying to send a package to Cpt. Howell and Viper Company.  I had the wrong zip code and have just been told that it's APO AE 09354 NOT 09254 as I was originally told.  Is 09354 correct?

Thank your husband and the other troops serving with him.  We appreciate their sacrifice (and that of their families also).  God bless and keep them safe.

    Hi Pat,

I have a lot of contacts in the mountains of Afghanistan including Korengal and those with the 6-4 CAV.  Almost everyone of them have 09354 as their zip code.  Hope that helps...
