You can always send those summer sausages that are all beef.  They are a good buy at Sam's Club right around Christmas and their expiration date is about 6 months out.  Usually around $6.88 for three pounds  and they clearance them around $3.00 usually in January.

The folks at Katz's have been sending their salami now for about five years to both Iraq and Afghanistan. Since their stuff is Kosher, it should be safe.

The way they prepare the stuff, it will keep for at least six months if not cut. It was a big hit with the Marines during my oldest's two tours in Iraq.

Mail seems to be arriving in good time, about a week to ten days.

Re: One more Pink Boxer Story

So Chris is back in Texas now and I was talking with him on the phone for a bit tonight, he is much more chatty now that he doesn't nave to worry so much about OPSEC; anyways he tells me that they now have a new halloween costume out, it consists of a plastic helmet, a flack vest, pink I love NY boxers, and included in the package are flip flops.  I couldn't stop laughing.  I am thinking spec Boyd would want some sort of royalties.

    Welcome Back Vipers!

Re: One more Pink Boxer Story

To all wonderful Any Soldier junkies.

I flew to Texas to welcome my son Sgt. Turner home this week. I wasn't able to get there in time for the official celebration (fog machines and lous music as they ran into the auditorium!) but still got to see him and spend a couple of days taking him to dinner and having some beers. As I was hugging Ian I said a prayer for Rick Dewater and the other eight Soldiers that didn"t come home and for the speedy recovery of those who were wounded. Bob, I am so sorry you didn't have the opportunity to see your son home safe. No one can deny your sacrifice.

I would like to once again thank every one of you that sent boxes to the Korengal. Your contributions made a difference and I am proud of everysingle one of you.

    Thank you.

    Alan Turner

Saw an interview with our pink boxer soldier Spc Boyd on tv news tonight. Evidently the boxers are going to be put in a museum ...I don't recall if they mentioned where...maybe someone else saw the interview. Here is a link to another recent article..

    Bob,

Make sure you meet Sgt. Turner and Sgt.'s Trudell & Thompson. (I'm guessing you already have!)  I was just there last week, what I shame I missed you by such a short time. Have fun at "the Great Place" make my son by you a beer.
