    More Names Than Money

I am an AS junkie.  I have some AS cards which I've been dropping off here and there.  It occurred to me today that I could put names of contacts on the cards and drop them off.  I gave one to 3 adorable girls at a lemonade stand in town today.  I told them to give it to their Dad.  And that it was for sending things to soldiers.  One replied,  "Oh,  we send packages at our church!"  It is just as important to influence someone else to be a junkie as being one yourself.

hmmmmm . . . With all respect, James, I feel that the card works just fine without any enhancements . . .  and I won't give out ANY contact info, not even a name.  I mention their names in conversation as if I'm talking about my own kin, but that's about it.  Maybe it's all in how you interpret the Terms and Conditions, but this is one section that I would hope we all revisit ever so often . . .

I really don't see any harm in "suggesting" that you turn your attentions to a certain name.  That is exactly what we are doing on the Forum, and that is a public site, so I don't see the difference.  That doesn't constitute giving out any specific info about that person any more than using their name in a conversation. I can see that a person would want a particular contact to get more attention than they can give them.  Isn't that what we do daily on the Forum?

I think it's a great idea to give cards with suggested names. As long as you don't put the contacts' addresses. The people will have to request the addresses themselves.

My vote goes with Michelle on this one.

Just curious here but what purpose does it serve to give out the names of deployed Soldiers to absolute strangers while they are away?

Anyone can come on the website for themselves. I thought the cards were to advertise the site not individual contacts.

The Any Soldier has promised not to release supporters’ info to others. Don’t we at least owe the same confidentiality to our contacts?

Don’t we owe them and their families the same promise and peace of mind!!!

    I think we do.
