This may work for some of you out there who send out hotel size toiletry items...
I work for a property that has a hotel on the premises. One recent morning while I was supervising stock movement, I had a conversation with the hotel housekeeping manager and I asked her if she ever had hotel toiletry items that she did not need. I explained AS to her. She brought me into her office, where there were 3 cases of damaged shampoo containers. The "damage" was that one container in each case had ruptured in transit. There are 50 plus of the little hotel size shampoo containers in each of these cases that are in fine condition. I was told that these cases are disposed of when they find a ruptured container in one of them because they just don't have the time to go through all of the bottles and clean them up for hotel use. The bottles are plastic.
I have the three "bad" cases at my house now and I am the official contact for any more such cases. I never thought of something like this before, but one brief conversation has hooked me up with a pretty dependable supply of travel size toiletries, at least shampoo. My hotel is an upscale place and these products are all nice items.
If any of you have contact with hotels in your area, this may work for you as well.
