Thank you troops, for all you do

This is a slide show I created to thank our heroes for serving on our behalf. I have copied it to CD and mailed it to all of our adopted troops, then our design engineer, techno-geek, favorite oldest son Paul told me how to convert a PowerPoint presentation to a .wmv file which could be shared more easily. I sat down last night and followed his suggestion, and voila, I wound up with a file I could upload to YouTube and share on my Multiply.com page, on mymilpics.com, and here. That way more of our heroes can see it than just the ones we have been able to adopt and support from anysoldier.com. I put my heart into it; the song accompanying the slide show is "I Salute You." You can get the MP3 file from the music corner here on AS, under News & Stuff.

    Patriotic Lady,

It's fantastic, you made me cry!   I sent it to 2 of my contacts and Major Pain too right away. I think you'll touch many of their hearts with it, they need a boost right now with everything that is happening over there.  I also sent it to a local group I'm getting involved with here in Milwaukee, it would be perfect to show it at a drive for the soliders or for pre-advertising for a drive.

    Great Job!

I've gotten lots of positive feedback from the troops I sent this to on CD. The CD version is much clearer and easier to read; saving the slides as .jpg files and then converting the whole project as a .wmv file takes quality away. But it's still worth passing along. And I want as many of our troops to see it as possible. I put my whole heart into this project (You have NO idea how long I struggled with getting each slide constructed just so, and getting the music in sync with the slides...being my first time using Power Point, and knowing absolutely nothing about it.Stick out tongue) I appreciate you passing it along. (You've saved me $1.51 - I was getting ready to send Major Pain a CD...Wink)

    Ms Tracy,

I got an email from him this morning, he said utube doesn't work so well out there but he was going to try and see watch it.  So maybe send it just in case, besides I think he will probably want to post it on his site.

    Mary,

I must admit I had wondered about the link to YouTube working for our troops. I know the DoD has a lot of the social sites on a black list and our heroes can't get to them. I kind of figured YouTube would be one of them -  I'll get a CD in the mail to Major Pain this afternoon when I get off work. I usually have my "soldier bag" with me, but this morning I was carrying two HEAVY care packages out to the car as I left for work, and the soldier bag stayed home as I didn't have time to go back in and get it.Stick out tongue  That's where my Troop Support Rolodex and my slide show CD's and everything else resides...in my "soldier bag"...I feel naked when I leave home without it. Wink

    Have a great day!

What an incredible job you did of putting this amazing tribute to our troops together from your heart.  I love the song playing "I Salute You", your beautiful messages to the troops, and that fact that you include the Twin Towers in your tribute.  I live in New York and never in my lifetime did I think the Towers would be no more.  Many people have forgotten 9/11.  Thank you for putting the Towers in your video.  It was beautiful and heart-wrenching.  They were our New York.  The Towers and all the innocents that were killed on that day, are missed.  We will never forget.  The Towers are no longer in our skyline.Crying

Thank you for Tribute to the Troops.
