    MIstimae,

I read your post this morning and did not respond because I did not know what to say.  "I'm sorry" sounds so lame in the face of what you have endured and are enduring.   But I thought about you all day and I had to acknowledge the death of your husband and the pain and possibly bewilderment you must be feeling.  I didn't used to pray much until a situation in my family occured where I felt totally helpless.  The only way I knew to deal with that feeling of helplessness was to pray.  I haven't stopped praying.  I pray for all the military who are serving and for those who have died.  Your husband was a casualty of this war and I will pray that he rests in peace and for you to find peace in this life.  God bless you, and God bless the soul of your husband.

    With deepest sympathy,

    Lilly

    My dear Mistimae,

I just read your post about your husband's suicide in Iraq in June.  Words can not express the depth of my sorrow for you and your family.  Sometimes life just gets so overwhelming for people and they lose their way.  In their despair, without even realizing how many folks love them, they do what seems unthinkable and harm themselves.  Those left behind to cope usually are bewildered and often suffer from unbelievable sadness.  I am so very sorry that you have had to go through this experience.  And I think that often the most sought after answer to the question of "why?" will never be found.  Please know that I consider your husband to be a hero, every bit as much as a soldier who has died in combat.  This war took him from you and you have my deepest sympathy.  Yet even in your sadness, you have reached out with sympathy to another soldier's family and that is truly a compassionate act.  You will be in my thoughts and I am wishing you strength to endure and to find the peace that you deserve.

    Kathy

armymom - I hope the truth comes to light and peace is found.

mistimae -  My heart breaks for you.  I have no words that can make your hurt go away.  A good friend of mine took his own life over 25 years ago and I've never quite gotten over it.  I can only imagine the pain of losing your spouse.  You are in my prayers.
