    Deni Dax:
Kathryn M -  you can rest easy now,  they have been delivered.   I like your autumn photos inside!

WOW - that was fast! Glad you liked the pictures - they are actually a couple of years old ( Sept 2006) but they are nice ones!  I was in a really pretty place last Saturday and didn't get any photos of the trees - and they were so pretty too. Maybe I will feel like getting out this weekend to take some new pictures. Once we get frost/snow in a few weeks everything just turns brown and ugly until we get the really deep stuff around the holidays - then the mountains turn into a winter wonderland.

    Deni,

    I'm done, I'm done, I'm done!!!  Yay!!!!

My goal was to get them in the mail by Saturday, which I didn't - I had four more to write in.  So......I have writer's cramp, but I finished them today, and they will be on their way to you tomorrow.  Smile

Can't wait to see everyone's cards!

    Have a great week!

    Hugs,

    Dawn

     Lisa

I just re-read your earlier post.  I'm sorry your post office personnel are so hard to work with.  I was fortunate to be able to go to an alternative mailing house - PostNet,  where their employees are more supportive of my efforts.   Is it silly of me to ask you if you have an option like that?   Mailboxes, Etc, PostNet?

I don't know but I may look for one.  I get the pleasure of spending after work at the loading dock at the post office because I have 13 boxes (more than 10) going out.  <sigh>

<doing happy dance> Yay, so glad you got our cards!  Now if I can just start on the ones for the crazy lady who wants double in November  <BLAAAHHH!>

I know,  what's up with that?   Hey you live in Alaska,  do ya happen to know her?

You might as well sign me up.  I think my head is clearing enough to do 50 for Christmas.  Hard to think about Christmas when it's hot outside.

I'm not complaining, I know the cold is coming soon.  Autumn leaves are falling............

Are you sitting down??  I AM DONE!!!  Was at the PO this a.m. and got the flat rate envelope and 2 $4.80 stamps.  When I get home from work tonight,  I am packing up my little masterpieces (well, they are, if compared to kindergartners' work!) and shipping to you TOMORROW 9/30.

    Hi everyone,

I think Ann posted a site for free crochet and knit patterns, which were okay, but.......it had a link to this great craft online supply that I hadn't heard of, not that I hear close to everything, but it is awesome and the prices are great, I think!

I wish that I had known about it a month ago, I could have gotten the exact OCD envelopes that I wanted!!!!!!

    I hope you enjoy it!

I am still working on my cards, they are getting there.

    Hi Deni,

Just checking in to say Hi!  and to see if you received my cards sometime this week.

D-Day is almost here!!!  It's a job with all of the organization to keep everything straight, but I hope you have as much fun as I do going through and packaging all of the cards.   I can't wait to see them all!

Best wishes and Hugs from Maryland,

    Dawn  :-)

Re: Card Swap #4- October 5th Do by Date!

Hello Ladies!   Dawn and Lilly, your cards were waiting here for me when we returned from a great trip to San Diego to visit our youngest and her family.   I can't believe our youngest grandson is crawling and pulling himself up to a standing position. He's growing so quickly!      We enjoyed our time down there.

This will be a long email.  I wanted to cover some items of interest.

Sandy - (colourful) -   what a blast I had on the planes!   For those of you who don't know the story, Sandy takes cards whenever she flies, and comes off the plane with thank you notes written from the passengers for our troops.

On both flights I approached the flight attendants, told them my story about sending monthly care packages and how the troops really enjoy getting cards from home, and asked if they would hand out the cards I had stenciled at home to the passengers who were interested in writing one.

I could hardly finish my spiel before they said yes, and they thanked me.  I had a captive audience!   On the flight down, the attendant asked me to write something that she could announce over the loudspeaker.  Both times the planes were half full, however, most folks wanted to write something.

It is such a neat feeling to know that I gave these folks a chance to connect with the troops.  With the ones who wrote their email addresses down,  I will re-connect with them once more, and carefully mention AnySoldier.com to them.

On today's return flight, not only did I receive cards from the passengers, the pilot and co-pilot signed cards also!  Both were retired military themselves.

Both times I took a picture of the crew, which I will send along with the cards.   I also walked off with a big bag of individual packed bags of peanuts, SWA playing cards, and little wing pins for some of the troops to send back home to their kids.

    Southwest Airlines is the best!

OK, I'll write more in the next post.  Don't want to make this one too long.  Just gotta mention the Miramar Air Show that we went to.

Miramar Air Show!   Wow and neat!   We went on Friday,  not too crowded, paid $33 each to have seats under a large tent like canopy, (still got plenty of sun on our faces - outside a lot)  plenty of water, lots of vendors, (yes I guess I could have had one set up for AnySoldier.com, didn't think of it and I would have missed the show).

Bought some neat Operation Iraqi Freedom  tee shirts, and got lots of compliments on them at the airport.  (Forgot to mention - that yes,  I did wear my AnySoldier.com cap (hat) the whole day at the air show.

Everything about it was neat!  I loved the ending with the Blue Angels and everything before it.  Even the Budweiser Clydsdale Horse Team was there.   We took lots of neat pictures.

We were surrounded by Marines, Sailors, perhaps some Soldiers, Airmen, and definitely a lot of veterans.

Got home in time to attend a wedding, and now it's time for bed.

That was my last 5 days how was yours?
