Card Swap #5 - Due back November 12th - Christmas Theme

Oh boy, am I going to step in it.  I would like to host Card Swap 5 and get people thinking about it now.  I would like to get a target of 50 people and I would like to get them back to me the 12th of November.  Even if you have never done a card swap before, think about doing this one...and as I am the post card queen, I will tell you right up front, postcards are perfectly fine.  This is the best time of the year to do a card swap!

For those who have never participated...you put 50 cards/post cards in an envelope and mail them to the host.  The host makes 50 piles, one each, and mails 50 different things back to you from all over the place, then you send them out with your stuff to your contacts.  My gift to the wonderful people on the AS board, I am footing the $$ to send the cards back to you, I missed you all a lot while I was gone.  So no $4.80 stamp with your cards, send something extra to your guys from me.

Yep, I know card swap #4 just started, but with the time between swaps, and the holidays coming up, I didn't want a Christmas card swap to get lost in the holidays.  This would get your cards back to you before Thanksgiving with pleanty of time to get them out in your holiday boxes.

I thought maybe people could start thinking about things now, and lets get a holiday theme going, even if you have to pull your christmas decorations out early and take a picture.  All previous card swap rules apply, leave them open, no political messages, pleanty of love, hugs, and warm thoughts for our warriors so far from home.

    Hello Lisa......

GOTTA  LOVE   YOUR   ENERGY!!!!! Yes  Yes   You know dear friend you can count on me for a card swap.   But I don't think you should absorb the cost.........you're talking $240!!!    I know you want to.........but YOU DO SO MUCH ALREADY (and I know that as FACT)   I know there is no changing your mind........but if you do reconsider........I will have no problem enclosing a priority stamp.    Now I we talking a Christmas theme???    (You know me a little dense sometimes).   I know exactly where my cards are (I buy lots at the end of the Christmas Season).    Hmm.......maybe I'll write a "Santa" letter.   I used to respond back to the children in the area (for over 10 years) who wrote to "Santa".    You could say I was the USPS elf.    It was always alot of fun.   Even in the lat two Christmas' since I've retired, they still asked me to to it.    Hmmmmm....   I do believe that will be what I will do.   (So glad I can think out loud and on this forum).  Anyway.........again.......good to see you back.   I've emailed you a few times.(just FYI)

Take care.............Love peace and blessings...........Anne Marie

    Yep, Christmas theme.

Yep, happily absorbing.  Would love if peeps can send one more little present to the troops, a book or cookies, or a snow globe, or something, than a stamp to me.  Would make me very happy knowing I can touch people I can't even touch.  LOL

Yep, going to be a constant begger, cajoler, whisperer to get every lurker to join in this time.  Calling all scrap bookers, lets get some scrap booking cards done with pictures of your family.

Yep.  Goal is to get the cards back in time to make it into the Christmas boxes sent out by all the wonderful peeps at AS.  We can do it.  Hugs Anne Marie and thank you for your support.  LOL I think a Santa letter would be wonderful!

    Dear dear Lisa,

I would be happy to do it, but 50 is a ton, so I may have to yell for help after my hand breaks from all the writing.  I guess that I could send Christmas Gift cards and just write a line or two in each one.  That would be easier.  Maybe I can get my daughter to do some of them.

I can barely get 20 finished, but since it isn't until November maybe, just maybe.

When you talk about postcards are you talking about sending blank ones with the cards or using postcards for the cards?  I am so confused.......50.....it is for a good cause......it is the holidays.Gift..........it really isn't very much for people fighting for us..Gift.........mmmm.......I think I can, I think I can...............Gift

Thanks for all you do and your generosity it is so nice to have you back.  You really were missed.

    Hello again Lisa......\

I have a question for you...........can you put this under special projects..............Rosepeddles was looking for it.   I cut and pasted it for her.............but I know it could be to better use (and less confusing) if it had it's own thread under special projects.   Thanks............

LOL we can do it, and think of all the wonderful cards you will get back if all 50 people sign up.  Lurkers and newbies come out and play, we need your help to make Christmas a great day!

I will throw myself on the powers that be and request this thread be moved to the special projects section.  Great idea Anne Marie.  Mimi Z you are so sweet, thank you for joining in.  I can't wait to see all the cards and steal all the ideas...er...appreciate the hard work that is going into them.  LOL  CptDan'sMom, what a wonderful idea to get your class to help, I think there are lots of soldiers who will adore them.

Vicki V, we have about 90 days, so technically we can get them done if we do one every other day.  If you think about it that way, or do only 5 a week over lunch (plans how she is going to get hers done).

Colourful, thanks for signing on too.

I am all for sending post cards, they are beautiful, represent our states and our lives, are easy for soldiers to carry as most fit in a pocket and don't take that much to write or type on one.  If you think 50 full cards are too much, then please get the post cards, spruce them up with some stickers or colored pens, would work well for a string of lights, bows, and a Christmas tree.  Do a mix of cards and post cards, anything is a wonderful thought to our men and women so far away from home.

My Candygirl...ooo, thank you, I'll sign up for yours too.  LOL  Just in time for Valentines day unless I miss my guess.  Another wonderful time to send our troops cards! <feels her forehead to see if she has card fever>

Hugs to all, and watch me be persistant.  LOL

Count me in. Card swap #3 was my first attempt at making cards. At this rate I'll be a pro in no time.

    Thanks for all you do.

Lisa -  don't sign me up yet,  I'll be one of the last ones.

The beauty of this 50 card swap is even if you only get 25 participants - they'll get 2 of each design.

Hello - I am game for #5 swap too!  WHEW, 50 cards is ambitious, but with plenty of time it is doable! I will start picking out my cards this week out of my huge box in the basement!  They will be sort of generic season greetings cards as I don't generally do religious cards but I think they will be quite suitable for the exchange.

I will PM Lisa in a few minutes to have her at me to the list!

    Thanks, Kathryn M.
