Mine came today too! The envelope looked like it has already been to war, but the cards inside were okay.

I glanced at all of them and will sort and mail them later this week. The ones all the kids made were just great! Thanks everyone for all the hard work.

    Hello all.........

received my cards today too.....but waited til the grand daughters were sound asleep.   Hubby and I sat at the tabe savoring them all...........one by one!!!!     Such wonderful cards......thoughts..........prayers.......and all around LOVE in each of them.   I had a few questions.....

    1.   Cathy W.  --  there was no enclosed prayer in the card (as you mentioned) Would you want to send one to me?   I'll wait for a few days...if you email me.

    2.  there was a child's card signed by Ben.....the person who went it....do you want an email address to go with the card?   The reason I'm asking is that usually when the troops see a child's letter/card they like to respond to them.   I'll wait a a few days for the a response

Please put me down for all the upcoming swaps........gee so much action here with all the new swaps going on.   I was in on the first one and every swap since....I'm not going to miss any!!

With all the cards received...plenty for all my contacts...........Thanks again everyone!!!

Love peace and many blessings.....Anne Marie

     Vicki -

I am also happy to hear you have been able to get back home and your kitty was ok.   I pray those fires are put out quickly before any others are hurt with lost homes.

I have had a chance to sit down and look at the cards.  Wonderful cards and letters everyone!  They will bring smiles to my contacts and their troops.  Thank you everyone....

        I have a few questions :

Sandy - the poem you wrote - awesome!  Can I send more copies out to my contacts?

Lynn - who drew the cute reindeer and soldier on your card that I received?

Lisa - who printed your postcard with the Alaskan picture?

Kim - is that a punch card that you did with the snowflakes?  If it is, how?

Dawn - where did you get your "ribbon - Support Our Troops" stamp?

Caryn -  I've seen the fabric used before, I love the idea,  what type of adhesion do you use?

Thanks again everyone,  now on to swaps #6 and 7, and 8, and 9...............

My cards were waiting for me when I got home from TN.  They were a great pick me up after having to leave grandboy and come home to everyday work and school.  All of them are so cool I would have a hard time choosing which to send where, so I decided to just close my eyes and put them into the various boxes I have ready to mail.

Deni, if I am the Lynne you were asking about the reindeer card, on the back should be the name of the student who made the card.  I don't think I was the only Lynne who sent cards though, that one sounds vaguely familiar.  Lynne B.

Got my cards today, yay!  You guys/gals are so creative...I took my envelope to school, hoping I'd be early enough to read them all while I waited in the pick-up line for my son...got through a few (since I was late after picking up the mail, hoping the cards would be there).  Read the rest after I got home and they are wonderful!  Thank you to Lisa for enduring the stress and sleepless night(s), and thanks to all of you Junkies for the great cards for the troops.

What a great evening! I came home and snuggled in with the cards...I got TWO packs, wheee! And our heroes will be THRILLED to get any of them. The kids cards are particularly sweet!

    Junkies ROCK!

And by the way, I have hundreds MORE letters here at my house. If you have units you can't get cards to for Christmas, let me know who needs some TLC; we have a big ol' list but if there's a special unit that you love but can't mail a pack of letters to, I'll see what I can do!!

    Hi Deni,

It's the double sided 3D adhesive. You can find something like it also in the picture framing area.

     Hope that helps,

    Caryn

    Hi everyone!!

I must say, I am soooooooooooo excited after reading all of your posts about the cards.  It gives me something to look forward to today or tomorrow...  :-)

Deni - The Support Our Troops stamp came from A.C. Moore - a crafts company like Michaels - not sure if you have one of those out there.   Here is some info about the stamp just in case you want to research it:  It was handmade in the USA by INKADINKADO of Reading, PA.  There are two numbers that look like stock numbers on the side:  96259 and 407.  The bar code number is 7-25718-96259-3.

Thanks again Lisa for coordinating this swap!!!!  You did such a wonderful job!  Hopefully you have been able to get a little bit of rest this week.  :-)

Not sure if anyone read my posts from Card Swap 3, but I received FOUR emails from soldiers this past week.  All four were in my SPAM folder.  I know one of them came from Deni (Raymond Curcio) but not sure about the others.  Ironically, one of my cards was mailed to a contact (not sure who) and then distributed to a person that is right here from my local area!!!  What a wonderful week.  It is such a boost to hear back from the troops.   I never expect a reply, so when I do hear something it makes it extra special!! :-)

Take care all, and have a wonderful week.

    Hugs from Maryland,

    Dawn  Smile

Thanks Lynn - you're right, usually I look at the back of the cards, thought I had,  it says Kamyrn made the card I asked you about,

Thanks Dawn - for the info on the stamp.  Hope I find one.

Thanks Caryn for the info on the fabric adhesive.  Such cute cards,

and Anne Marie -  I forgot to tell you what a cute idea your Santa letter was.

It's fun to see that everyone is receiving their cards.  I hope the wet ones were salvageable.

Deni, Bo turned me on to a company called vistaprint.com they had a special for like 100 cards for free, shipping was like $6.  I took the pictures at the zoo and wrote the poem/wish and you get to design your own card.  I love them.  I like to get a bunch of designs together and then get them printed when they have a sale.  LOL  I am so glad you guys are receiving your cards.  I am sorry some of them are coming in damaged.  The post office must have a persnickity machine.

Yes, that's where I get my post cards printed, however, you've taken it to a new dimension.  Thanks for sharing~!

    Good day y'all,

Would anyone like to have a chat on Friday or Saturday evening about 8 PM Eastern Time in the new chat Card Swap Room to discuss the previous swaps and how they went and what we learned etc?

I would also greatly appreciate some feedback from the group ....

When making our cards, signing our cards, writing our letters, etc... HOW TO ADDRESS THEM.

There were five cards that specifically said "Dear Soldier,"

It so happens that I do have soldiers on my contact list.  However, some folks may only have sailors, marines, or airmen.

THIS IS JUST MY OPINION... but would appreciate your feedback...

Perhaps we should be sure to address all cards to:

Dear Hero, Dear American Hero, Dear Fighting Warrior...
OR Just start by saying Hi, Happy Valentine's Day, something general so it won't matter who receives the card.

I'm sure the guys and gals appreciate receiving the cards even if they aren't soldiers, but I'm sure they'd appreciate it more if it didn't say soldier if they aren't a soldier...

Again, just my opinion,  If I'm a marine, sailor, or airman... am I sitting there thinking, geez don't they know I'm here too!?

Thanks y'all for your wonderful dedication.

OH, and yes, if you haven't already guessed, I got my envelop of cards.  WONDERFUL!  SUPERB!  VERY VERY NICE!

My contacts are going to absolutely LOVE them for sure.

I'm sure those receiving cards with inserts like pictures of children and pets, or post cards from their home state, will be tickled just a little more too than just having received the card.

GUYS -- YOU ROCK!  So many great ideas!!!

    Take good care, y'all.

Anne, I kind of take "Soldier" to be a collective.  Like man is the most intelligent animal on the planet, even though we all have doubts <giggle> and there are women here too....LOL...or walking into a room and saying "Hi guys", even though it may only be women.  I just take it to mean the generalization....but then Emily Post...I am not.

From Wikipedia.org/wiki/soldier:  A soldier is a general English term that refers to a land component of national armed forces. In most societies of the world, "soldier" is also a general term for any member of the land forces including commissioned or non-commissioned officers.

Chat sounds like a wonderful idea.  I think a lot of people like to get together and swap ideas.

     You go girl!
