    Thanks Dani and

for forwarding the video -- again -- from Nathan Work.  It is fabulous.  Don't know what the glitch was on my computer when it first came into my inbox but it wouldn't open.  Now I have three copies! LOL.

So nice of Nathan to respond to the Card Swap and then to follow-up with the video.  NICE NICE NICE!

Am looking forward to hearing from more of the troops as the packages and cards are received.

For sure we flooded them with cards. YEAH!

    Take care,

    Anna

    Hi,

Would someone send me a copy of Nathan Work's video. I got his email, but no video. He is one of my contacts and I sent him the cards from swap #5 and would love to see his video.

    Thanks, Kathy

    Hello all swappers............

This is SOOOOOOO exciting.......recived two cards and a post card in the last few days.    All responding to the Christmas Card swap.........one is Sgt. Angela Jackson    and the other   Sgt. Sahira Cano.     I didn't see them posted as contacts,so maybe they are part of a group who is a contact........but all the same WE ARE MAKING A HUGE IMPACT!!!!!

The post card was extra special as it was addresssed to my two little grand daughters..........and how they appreciated the drawings that I sent with some cards.   My daughter  (their mother )   was quite touched when I showed her.   I told her when I sit down to write a letter,  I sit them with crayons and markers.   Now............for anyone who doesn't know they are onlly 3 yrs. and 1 1/2 years................sooooooo touching!!!!

Ah............now to go and re-read the letters  [:D

    Love peace and blessings.........Anne Marie

SGT Cano is one of my Marines...she wrote to Cards for Heroes and asked about getting cards when she heard about us. And I put a biiiiiiig packet of letters on top of each of my boxes; the past few weeks I sent out over 600 letters in my boxes!! It's been cool having so many to share. So that's where she came from! If you wanted to send her anything---she has a little "coffee shop" there in Iraq where she puts our cards out for everyone to write home on over a cuppa java. :)

Anne marie very sweet of the post cards you received.

Ok the Nathan video is truly great to see. The funny or strange part of it, Nathan is not my AS contact but noticed the unit he was with is same unit I have a Lt contact from that I had sent things to. So when I saw the video I saw one of my contacts in it because of an email I had received from the Lt with a newsletter and photo. So when I saw the video I also recognized one of my contacts in the video at the end. Small world nice to see!!! yeah!!!

Another note, I have received a very nice post card from LCPL mossburg, a nice email from Chino Ruiz who also added himself on my facebook, and an email thank you from 1st Sgt Rudy Tobias not one of my contacts. But is also a small world, because I send care packages to a Lt same company name  who is not on the any soldier sight because of there remote location. If any of these are your contacts it would be great to know.

    Thanks everyone!!! :>)

Schools and College Closed due to heavy snow. A few stores closed as well. But not even sleet, nor rain or even heavy snow could stop our wonderful postal man delivering "special cards" and package to our door.

As I went out front to shovel the sidewalk - what did a see a box marked for Brandon and me! From across the sand and onto our doorstep I was in shock and also puzzled until I seen a APO/AE address but for me? Tears came down my face since I didn't expect. Said from Santa but with APO/AE address on it. Hmmm. Putting them in the house and set under our tree we will not open until christmas eve, such a wonderful day and feel very blessed. As I then opened the mail box  something shining so brightly, but two christmas cards were in the stack of bills. Threw down the bills and went straight to the cards like I had just won the lottery.

Both very sweet thoughtful cards and I am honored to have, a very kind hearted Nicolette Pringle sent a card and nice message.

Also received a great wonderful thoughtful card from SFC Buchanan.

I appreciate the extra time and thought they put it into it from across the way. I know Christmas cards are hard to come by. When you never expect the unexpected happen. A christmas year I will never forget from all the wonderful blessings.

Thank you everyone! Again didn't realize they affect my son's card would have.

We had received an email from a Captain who also the unit loves his card and packages sent, their unit wants to send something to "our little honorary trooper". my son is honored and also puzzled. He said in a sweet voice they are so far away and have no malls or stores momm. Then he said that is okkkk they don't have too as he was concerned they were spending their hard earned money. I said but they want to. He  said, that will be the "bestest" gift ever!!!

    Gotta love him!

Wanted to share! Thank you for all those who put our cards out there!!!

    Happy Holidays to everyone.

So cool, you'll have to tell us what's in the package on Christmas Eve!

I got an email today from SSG Curcio, and I know it was from the swap because he mentioned the poem I wrote...I think he's one that my card was passed on to, and not a contact? Not sure. Anyway, it's always a JOY to get email from our men and women! :)

    Merry Christmas, swappers!!!

    Hi Y'all...

Very Merry Christmas and happy day after...

Did y'all hit the stores this morning to gather up all those bonus deals! UGH!
The news reported car-bound streets surrounding a few of our local hot-spot shopping areas.
GLAD I was NOT in that mess!

Wanted to let y'all know I've heard from the following gents who have received boxes from me recently... with CARDS in them...   Anyone recognize any of these folks.... I'm fairly sure one is a guy in the unit of one of my contacts, but he didn't give me a specific name... so I'm not real sure...

I don't see any of these names except, WORK, on the AS lists.

    Jake Alexander

    Aaron Dixon

    Chris McDougal

    Patrick Riner

    Nick WIlliford

    Nathan Work

    FREE MAIL abounds!  NICE!

    Take care

I don't know if I can deal with the shopping extravaganza.....lol!

Did you recognize any of the addresses on the envelopes? Sometimes you can tell by where they are that your box got passed to a neighbor by one of your folks. I don't recognize any of your names myself. :)

Nick Williford is one of my guys!  Big Smile

He has never been an AS contact directly--someone else gave him my letter a couple of years ago when he was in Iraq.  We corresponded then, and stayed in touch after he got home.  He deployed to A'stan a few months ago.

He's a great guy (but aren't they ALL?!?!?!?!)

    Phillis,

I received an e-mail from Nick Williford yesterday--very nice guy! I wrote back and told him to let me know if he needs anything. Where is he from originally? I told him that e-mails and free mail from the troops are the highlight of the day here!!  Smile  Hope everyone had a great Christmas!

    Hugs from snowy WI,

Nick is from Tennessee.  He loves Bluegrass and old-time music, which is a great thing--gives us something to talk about besides SEC Football!  (Alabama and Tennessee are huge rivals!)

He's hopefully on his last couple of months over there.  He told me the other day he was going to start packing stuff up to send home after the holidays.  That's a Christmas gift in itself!
