I didn't know you were going to get so specific with this list.  My creature comforts included magazines, push-on lights, batteries, playing cards, plastic bowls, spices and condiments, nuts and various hygiene products. 

I kinda liked "creature comforts" :) They probly feel like creatures after a month without a bath! I'll itemize that out for ya on the next list update. Just fyi, I haven't heard back from Concho yet so I don't have anything to report new. I'm not sure if he's caught up in the communications blackout they've had in parts of Afghanistan or not so I'm just holding..... I'll post if I mail anything new tho!!

Has any one heard from Concho?  I've sent him 12 boxes since Aug. 19 but haven't heard from him.  I heard someone say they only got mail once or twice a month but I wasn't sure if any one had email contact with him. Just wondering how they were doing.

I haven't had any word back. Here's the updated list tho from the mssgs I've gotten from all you good junkies :) I hope they've been able to recv some of the goods already!! Shelly

Thanks for the link. I ordered all three of them. He says he ships the same day if the order is received before 1PM and Paris, TX is not that far from Dallas. So, I will probably have them in a day or so and get them sent off my Monday.

I saw on Overstock.com that they have some metal camp mess kits. I think they were about $18.

Then, today while I was wandering through Costco I found some LED headlights marked down. They had the white and the red lenses. They were about $20 a piece, which is quite a bit less than the others I have been getting. So, I got 4 of them. I don't remember just who else was needing them. They also had some other LED flashlights marked down.

I would not normally know that. But, a friend of mine told me that if there is an * on the corner of the price label then it has been marked down.

The other thing I found there was glasses repair kits. One day while I was buying some of the small glasses toolkits at Walgreens, a guy behind me asked it they had a Phillips head screwdriver in that kit. When we looked they didn't. He told me that they needed the Phillipshead to repair their sunglasses. So, these kits have both and 2 small bottles of cleaner and a cloth. I got 4 of those.

Then I loaded up with snacks to send. I really need to stay out of Costco. I didn't see any hand warmers,though. I will go check at Sam's tomorrow for those.

Those are great finds.  If you go back to Costco would you buy some for me?  I will send you a check.  Lt. Mario Barrett has said that his platoon could use some.  He has 30 men.

Lt. Barrett is the same soldier that had requested the ACOG.  We've finally been able to e-mail each other and he seems like a really wonderful guy.   I am sending him one ACOG!!!  Thanks to all of you!!

His guys are in 3 different locations.  They are not able to use plate carriers because their job requires full coverage.  He and his Platoon Sgt. go about 2 times a month to get the mail and give it out to their guys.  When I listed many of the things that we have been sending up to other soldiers, his requests were minimal.  Power is an issue in many places so his soldiers need to stay as "self-sufficient" as they can.

His main requests were:

Army issue boot socks 
Army issue tan shirts
Head lights for their Kevlars.
"Our support",  he really asked for us to please continue to support his men!  He would just like for his "kids" to know that there are people out there that remember them.

Letters, cards, and maybe some basic hygiene and food items.

We got mail!!

So i emailed Concho a little bit back to see about what's arrived from our list. Hopefully that's what he'll update on his page for us. I'll keep my eyes peeled and update our list then too! Yay mail!! Shelly

I promise I will update the anysoldier. com tomorrow, I am horrible. I have been writing hand letters to all the supporters, but we have not seen any aircraft to put them on in a long time now. I will say this, the biggest problem we are having is our limited ability to resupply with copenhagen snuff. We really appreciate what you are doing for us and can not thank you enough! As soon as we can get some pictures downloaded I will send more. Once we have the entire platoon together we will take a PLT Photo.

Yay!  Thanks for letting us know Shelly.  I sent him an email weeks ago and never heard from him. 

Shelly  you can add another camp chair, 2 pillows with 2 pillow protectors, and 2 blankets to the list.  On the list for # of batteries that I sent.  It was 7 AAA and 8 AA.  I also sent out a Large FRB of snacks this week.
