Fundraising / Info Booth at Harvest Fair

It's going to be both a fundraiser (I HOPE) and general information booth in October.  My daughter is the organizer for the Harvest Fair and it's a huge event here in Rome, GA.  She is giving me a prominent space, a tent and said she will help me get it set up really nice.  I'm going to order the banner from AS and a lot of bumper stickers. My teenage grandchildren are going to be there to help pass the bucket.  I had trouble figuring out how to start a thread.  Thanks, Gran, I think I have it now!  I'd appreciate any tips on how to get the most bucks for SA at my booth.

    Nora,

I knew you would get it if you looked around and clicked long enough.  There is also a section at the bottom of the Forum page about Events & Fundraising where you might want to place a post too now that you are an ole pro at posting new threads Wink

Hi Nora, sounds like a great event to get the word out.  Maybe you can print off some of the flyers about the house raffle too,  you can find them the opening pages.

One great, easy, fundraiser if it's legally OK in your state is a 50/50 raffle.  Your only cost is the tickets.  The way it works, in case you haven't heard of one, is you sell tickets and however much you take in you get half, the winner gets half.  With a big function like you will be at, the drawing should be during the event, but they don't have to be present to win, checks are easy to mail.     $1 each or 6 for $5 is what we sell them for, most people buy at least $5 worth, some $20 or more.

    Good luck,    Anita

Hi Anita,  I just forwarded your post to my daughter who is the director of the fair and learned that because it's a fine arts fair, nothing can be raffled unless it's something that has been created by an artist.  She suggested that a quilt would be a good thing.  How fast can we get an AS quilt together gang??? LOLStick out tongue   Keep the ideas coming.....

    Thanks,

    Nora

Maybe an artist can design you some special raffle tickets.  LOL    Don't think you can design the cash prize.  Hope you come up with a plan, if nothing else great place to give info and hopefully snag some donations.

    Good Luck,   Anita
