Buchenholz, Sgt Curt, USMC, IRP Team Leader, IQ

I sent these guys some trail mix and a hook up to the BEST chocolate covered espresso beans this addict has ever had. www.nutsonline.com.  They even have a "nuts for the troops" section with gift packs of dried fruits and nuts/trail mix and gummi bears(if you can't decide what to send) and donate 10% of all military addressed orders to a group like the Ronald McDonald house but for military families.

Re:  Curt Buchenholz.......... I picked him up when he first posted as his unit is from Beaufort SC (where I am) and it's grat to see his numbers increase from 11x to 29x now!!!!  We have a Chocolate shop in town and I sent him some covered cofee beans and his response was great.   He said they tore into that box and it was the best he ever had.  What made me smile is that he was stationed here and I was surprised he hadnt heard of the "Chocolate Tree".   I've got him covered with 39 home made (crocheted) Christmas stockings (all different----including pink and purple ones for the ladies.   Tonite I made a few gold and red ones....USMC colors.   My daughter said I need to call it a night!!!Confused)  Maybe I should take her advice....

(I am not sure if this has already been listed - I did a search and nothing came up.)

    Posted 12 Nov. - CDR Michael L. Nick  (100 males, 9 females, 14 requests)

CDR Nick is in the Philippines - I know a lot of us emphasize Iraq and Af'stan.  However, his group has no military exchange store and depend on support from home, though a lot of the younger ones have no family support.  They also do humanitarian missions.  Sounds like they could use a little of our good will at Christmas time (and other times.)

Hi daschultz - Thanks for posting the CDR here - I posted him earlier today on the Overlooked contacts thread but as you say - I did a search and he still doesn't show in the search as being on overlooked - Hmmm - strange.  Thanks again for listing him here.  I thought he could use the help too.

    Re: Christmas Requests 2008

RE: MSG Debra Bradshaw.     I have been supporting her soldiers since she first posted on AS.   So neat to see her name mentioned in this thread.   Not sure about her entire unit, but I know that her tour was extended by 12 months and that she hopes to come home in May '09.

Just thought I would mention here some of the items from her list that I have been able to send:

    garlands, 2

    Christmas stockings, 6

    ornaments, 12

    door covers, 2

    misc Christmas items, 12

I also sent a case of popcorn since last year there was a large effort underway to collect enough microwave popcorn so that all of the soldiers could enjoy it when they gathered on Christmas Eve to watch movies.

I am not listing these items to brag, but I am listing them to try to help someone else who may be interested in shopping for MSG Debra's group try to figure out how best to spend their hard earned money to help these soldiers.   Happy holidays!

I am by no means able to supply her with everything on her request list, but I thought that posting here would help someone else who may be interested in sending a package to MSG Debra better decide what to send.   I am hoping that she gets that Santa suit this year!
