    You Tube..Letters From War

I was just on you tube watching a video someone here suggested and this one...Letters From War was next so I just happened to see it...it is so beautiful..watch it, you will love it!  Makes you feel good about the letters you send out to those who serve.  Just go to the you tube site and search "Letters From War" video.

the one I saw on You tube was a music video, not an actual letter....I am not sure of the musicians name, I just happened to see it in passing...it was neither "liberal" or "conservative" biased....just a good video!

YES it is a REAL LETTER and I have the soldiers REAL ADDRESS.  By the way, I'm not a Democrat and I'm not stupid. :)  AND I SUPPORT the troops - that's why I am doing everything I can to put an end to this travesty! (Your YouTube video from that soldier was 3 months old, by the way...wonder how he's feeling now after Bush's Push?  We've had the highest death tolls in Iraq ever in the last three months since that video was shot! MUCH has Changed!)

Here's a video for you to watch http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIxdaoKS-rw

Do you REALLY think THIS GOVERNMENT wants to allow the troops to tell it like it REALLY is?  They're censoring them!

:( You're sadly misguided, friend, if you do.

The video I was speaking of is a SONG by Mark Schultz not a letter from a soldier...he said it was his way of supporting the troops....

The political comments need to end here.. It is a strict rule that no political discussions can occur on here.. that is not the purpose of this forum.. Like Free said, it does not matter.. our role here is to support the troops and not worry about political influence, talk, etc.. just focus on our men and women.. .........Remember, Maryty reads these posts and he can stop any of us - perhaps ban- if we don't follow the rules of the forum

Sorry to sound so preachy, but I for one, love this site and the positive things we have all read on here, and the great information,, the last thing I want is to start seeing political opinions on here..

    thanks

Hello :)  I just registered because djv linked you all to my personal blog and made what (to me) was an insulting remark.

It's not my intention to start any sort of political debate, and I don't intend to be a regular member here.  If the moderators would like to remove my comments, that's sure ok with me :) Also please have them remove the link to my blog.

I am a very outspoken peace activist - and while I respect you all here and TOTALLY respect our troops, I will not be silent on what I believe to be a national nightmare.  I want our soldiers to come HOME.

    Thanks and God bless you,

    Grace

    Grace,

We appreciate the fact that you do have deep feelings for the troops.

Surely all of us have deep feelings and I am sure that some are some level of activists, but there is a time and a place for all things under the sun, and this place is for seeing that the Soldiers, individually, have support to get them through their deployment in good mental, spiritual and physical condition - no politics involved.  The members here probably have to bite their tongues at times to avoid confrontation or contention over various things.

Your comments belong on another place - your blog, maybe?

     To ALL OTHERS,

Maybe we should really think about not posting the site links that could be emotionally stimulating, and stick more to the individual Soldiers and units and their immediate needs, the job at hand, so to speak to avoid any kind of emotionally charged posts?

:)  thank you, Gran.  The ONLY reason I came here this morning is because one of your members linked my blog here.  I think your note to the others is a very sensible one.  If one of your members chooses to link to an outside source, there should be allowance for that source to speak.

    KEEP THE PEACE, everyone!

I thought the letter would be of interest to the readers on this website. . . . .It is on a bunch of blogs. 13 Grace was the one that I picked. I guess DEMOCRATIC.COM would have been the preferred choice for Grace. . . . .Iraq and Afghanistan are political issues. . . . And the source did speak. . . . . .And the DEMOCRAT.COM version says to get the word out about the letter. So I did.

Count me as an exception to that "we."  I don't appreciate their feelings at all.

sorry everybody!!  I was just suggesting a nice music video depicting families welcoming their loved ones home....I didn't mean for it to turn into a platonic debate!
