ANK was written on my package, too. Anyone know what that means?

    Hi Cheryl,

    I'll guess:

    Address Not Known

    Betc--

Ahhh--you're good at Army--or postal?-- acronyms! This is off topic, but I had a can of Pringles in the box that was returned to me. Out of curiosity, I opened them to see how well they'd traveled to Afghanistan and back. The were totally disintegrated!! Tongue Tied

Yes, it means ADDRESS NOT KNOWN but since he changed addresses you'll need to use the new one.  It appears there is no one at the old address.

If it's the NEW address that's been returned to you, you need to email the staff and ask them to verify the NEW address with the contact.  The contact may have entered some info wrong or changed addresses again!

    Cheryl,

I think "ANK" is machine code...that is to say, I'm not convinced the box left the States.
If that's the case, the Pringles didn't stand a chance.  I always assumed the Pringles wouldn't make the trip.  I bubble wrap them and try to send them upright, but there is too much room in the cans--that only grows larger as the chips crush.  I include in my note that I assume they won't make the trip and I suspect that's why they are packed in the cans so you can tip the pulverized contents into your mouth! Wink (maybe they can sprinkle them on something?) Tongue Tied  I wonder if the the snack size cans are powder by the time they arrive?

I worked at USPS until this past October.  It went all the way through to its destination.  It seems the zip code was okay but the address was no longer applicable.  It should have designated that it was a bad zip if that were the case.

FYI- I sent a package with 50 snack size bags of potato chips(20 plain and wavy), doritos, etc. to Sebia earlier this month (on July 6th)  and specifically asked if the chips made it.  I made sure each bag was pressed down among the others and that they couldn't wiggle around each other in the box.  I was told they made it just fine.

Chip manufacturers place many of their chips on trucks across the country and think of all the bumps they endure along the roads!  I think many just ask for Pringles because the container makes them easy to store.

Not sure if this is the right place to post it, but if anyone is looking for a group of soldiers in great need, SSG Alejandro E. Reyna is stationed at a remote outpost in Afghanistan  (in the heart of the Taliban's spiritual homeland, it's one of the most attacked  outposts we have over there, according to my Google search). He's only had 8 requests since August 10th.
