Previously: Plate Carriers - I'm back to thinking we're ok on plate carriers, so the name of the old thread is now obsolete.
Thanks all!
I will log anything here that is a large item or is in large quantities so that we don't end up sending too much of things. If you want to remain anonymous, or are sending stuff as part of a team/group, just say so.
I have cleared off the counts on previously sent plate carriers to make it easier to track other stuff.
Gear Coupon$
1LT Concho Moore's group is under Beans and Bullets thread. He posted an update 11 Oct and needs headlamps, tactical gloves and tobacco products
SSG Carroll is ok on plate carriers now and has been moved to another thread (you should be able to click on his name where underlined)
Here's the latest count. Please speak up if I missed anyone or got it wrong. If I missed your email, message or post, my deepest apologies.

1LT Jeremy R. Stratton - 18 - A-Stan - ETrex takes AA batteries, Foretrex 101 takes AAA batteries so he will need a steady supply of both
2LT Joshua Rodriguez - 101 - A-Stan - Has received 25 Plate Carriers so far. Two more that I know of are in transit. A couple of his men are looking for DACH chest harnesses. He requests that we contact him if anyone is interested in helping out with these http://www.hsgi.us/proddetail.asp?prod=HSG-DACH I do not know whether or not these have been taken care of yet.

Hello All,
What about balaclavas? There seem to be a lot of choices. When used in the winter, do they want lighter colors for camouflage? Or, do they want the darker colors, because they would get dirty so quickly?
I am also guessing that they would want ones that they would be able to pull down easily if they need to yell out, or at least ones that don't muffle their communications. If anyone has links to their favorite sites that would be very helpful! Thank you!

Ok, I may have appeared a little quiet for the past few, but I've been a messaging and emailing machine (sometimes it's good to be a geek).
I'm having formatting issues on the list that I won't be able to resolve until I get to my own computer, so any updates I do for a little while will be as edits.
I have queries out about the balaclavas. I got a little sizing info from our guy in Kosovo and have edited him back into the list here (and updated the Gear for Kosovo thread). He says they look like they're ok on blankets for now. It's when they're driving around without heaters in the vehicles and when outside that they're really cold.

Hi, Junkies -- I went through threads and posts on our Forum and gathered online vendors and links into a resource list. It’s posted under What to Send, Non-Food Items Links for gear, hygiene, snacks & more
Please note that some of these have been used by Junkies and/or suggested by our contacts, while others have not and are on the list as options. Some have great prices, some ship APO/FPO, some don't, some give discounts to military or for quantity, etc. Please check with the individual vendor. Also, I'm sure I've missed some, so please let me know & I will update the list. I will gladly e-m the list to any Junkie if you would like (it's in Excel) -- just let me know.
Yours in Junkie-dom! --Marilyn

I shipped 2 pairs of boots to SSG Nicholas Bunch yesterday, still waiting on a back-ordered pair.
A new forums user named Bunchie posted on the Plate Carriers thread that s/he had shipped I think 7 pairs of boots to SSG Bunch as well.
I am stll sending stuff to SSG Kristopher Carroll but now it's mostly food. I do have a couple more blankets I can send him if they need them.

Thanks Lilly & Bunchie,
I'll do an update after get my act together. I just got a nice shipment of handwarmers that I'm working on parceling out.
At this point, I would send any blankets to the Chaplain for 6-4 Cav, CH (MAJ) Ron Cooper, for distribution, or to any contacts mentioning blankets that have low request numbers. There will be a considerable amount of need for blankets all over. I don't know for certain that the guys listed above have enough blankets now, but quite a few have been shipped to them.
Has anyone shipped baby wipe warmers to anyone yet? Does anyone know if the warmers shipped to the 173rd last year were left behind and are still functional?

Hi Jo, welcome back! I haven't shipped any wipe warmers yet, but plan on sending a cpl to Keating, Bostick & Vegas.
Have you heard from Joshua? I know he moved to a different position and I have the change in his address, but haven't had any response to 2 e-mails. He may not have access now I don't know.

Thanks Anita,
There's no place like home (and why is there no ruby slippers smily?)
I think the internet out there has been up and down, and even when up it hasn't been very well behaved. The last email I got from Josh was very short, only requesting our continued prayers. Since he hasn't posted an address change, I've been sending to his old address.
Please keep us updated on the wipe warmers you send. Although they're not essential gear, I do think they'd make a big difference in one's outlook on life and would like to see if we can get one or two per PLT out there.

From the videos I've seen posted lately, I'd say the guys are looking a little thin.
