    Descriptive article about FOBs

    http://www.spacewar.com/reports/Feature_Notes_on_Iraq_999.html

I found this article while wandering the web. I thought it was very informative and might help newbies and maybe others to visualize the different types of bases our Soldiers are on. It doesn't do justice to the far outposts but our forums describe those pretty well.

Pretty much explains it here to the T...funny how the last line has the smile face rocks. I made a little rock garden around my CHU too...always kick them all over in the night though going to the porta potty, have to fix em daily, lol.

Thank you for your service Kenny....I checked out your posts and in the first picture it appeared that the soldiers doing pushups were being "poked by sticks"...lol!!!......Thanks for the hugs and here are some junkie hugs back at ya!!...{{{{hugs}}} Left HugRight Hug   Thought it was funny about the painted rocks...reminds me of the pet rock craze....you could start painting rocks to resemble all manner of desert creatures and or your battle buddies....

I got one rock that locks like my CO, think the rock is smarter though...LOL  just kidding, the CPTs cool.  Those soldiers were getting there promotion drenching...sticks might be a good idea, but it was a water bottle.  Aint so bad getting wet when its bout 100 degrees though.

    Kenny -

thanks for posting, it's always good to hear from those who are out there doing a great job.  You have lots of supporters here on the forum and in the chat rooms.  If I'm not mistaken,  you've been known to visit the chat rooms.  Am I correct?

    Glad you find comfort here.

God bless you and your comrades!

the things we learn on the forum!!..I wasn't aware of promotion drenching...is that a long held tradition?  I know that when a flight student makes the first solo they get dunked....my son was carried to his "dunking"...which just happened to be a "kiddie pool".... I looked back at the picture and my eyes finally focused in on the water bottles...geesh!!...I'm hoping it's just my blurry screen and not my eyes!. I see now that what I saw was the flagpoles in the background....
