I have requested the address for Boyce and plan to get a large box out to him tomorrow. I do have rag wool socks, along with snacks, I will send.

I was wondering if anyone has heard from Boyce?
We sent Boyce 2 pkgs. the end of Dec., and sent two in Jan., as well as the Hickory Farms sent directly to them, but never heard anything from them. I am guessing they have a hard time with communications.

I have not heard anything from Boyce either. Should we continue to send with their leave date being April 23, '09?
Our routine is to withhold packages after they drop to the old contacts list, especially if we have never heard anything from them. Each person has the free will to do as they deem appropriate.
Another for the list of Hungry Soldiers. they are down to one meal a day. CPT Steven A. Brewer
his name has been requested 110 times since August...so they may or may not get food now that he has put out the word.
Sgt. Garrie G. Gordon says they "go to the chow hall hungry and then you leave hungry too". :( I can't send them anything till next pay period but I will pick them up then.
They also need hygeine items.
Sorry, I just had to change the spelling.
Please consider SPC Jorge Ithier. I'm not able to pick him up at this time.
part of his posting 4/9 (2 req):
Our operation is in the middle of one of the cities out here in Iraq and all the other Patrol Base around us are closing down because of all the whole “pulling out of Iraq” plan, and there goes our chow runs. We are already low on rations as it is, with only a couple of sodas to drink a week. We get 2 small cold meals a day. We are lucky we got a microwave so a couple of us are just stocking up on microwavable easy meals for the rest of the time here, but not all of the soldiers here are this fortunate because most of the new comers here were sent short notice so they didn’t have time to gather their things from the big post.
I grabbed SPC Ithier's address. I don't have any microwaveable easy meals on hand, but filled a BIG box with other things - oatmeal, instant breakfast, crackers, peanuts, peanut butter, slim jims, ramen, drink mix, candy, etc.

and
MSgt Kyshia M. Newsome 180/15, 4 req. posted 4/10
Both soldiers are asking for lots of water - bottled, drinking, etc. I don't think I have seen this posted as an issue before, but sounds like a major need for both groups.
I've requested Newsome and SPC Ithier's addresses and will get boxes in the mail to them. I have Microwaveable items and will make a run to Costco for the drinks.
Thanks for posting this.

Leanna Hello!
I have seen a New British Berkefeld ss2x2 Berkey water filter system that would filter non potable water. These are used by missionaries. Unfortunately it would not cover that many soldiers but would help provide steady water that would not have to be shipped if they have a source of non potable water.
Here is an expired ad describing what they do:

You may even want one for yourself.

Hello everyone!
I sent a large FRB of healthy snacks, toothbrushes, toothpaste and mouthwash to SGT Garrie Gordon today.

We have packed a box for SGT Garrie Gordon's hungry men with Pizza Combos, trail mix, honey roasted peanuts and 2 oz. packs of beef jerky, and had room to spare, so we threw in 2 toothpastes, but it won't last long for 6 hungry guys.
