    Winter Storms - junkie check-in

I've seen a few posts from folks I was worried about...how's everyone faring? Did you build any snow forts out of FRBs? Did you dress your snowmen in fatigues?

I'm stuck in a foot of snow in Washington State; I know, I know, it's in the 20s and only a foot of snow, but they've got no road equipment here to deal with it all. So we're all hunkered down and waiting. My car died, too, so I don't even have the temptation to go out right now anyhow :) Need to get it fixed so I can get to the PO, I have some FRBs packed and ready to head out the door.

Snowbound is a great time to sit and write letters too....cardswaps are coming! Even if you're not in the Valentines swap, you can start on a set for a future swap and be done EARLY, imagine that! :)

Re: Winter Storms - junkie check-in

     Hi Sandy -

northern California checking in.  We must have gotten 2 feet of snow.  The rain has now taken it down to about 12 inches.

Some ice the other night, not as bad as some of you junkies are experiencing.  Prayers for all of you without power, without roads cleared, with ice storms, flooding, and no cars, etc.   Prayers, prayers, prayers.............

We only had 24 hours without power last week.

Woodstove keeping us warm, plus central heat when we turn it on.

On Friday, my hubby dug out the Christmas tree from snow and ice, that we had bought a week ago on Sunday, and left outside until we had time to bring it in.  Meantime it had snowed and he drove me into town so I could watch 2 of my grandbabies Monday through Thursday.  The roads were too dangerous for them to come to our home.

So on Friday I had a dripping wet iced tree in my livingroom with towels underneath it until it dried out.  I did enjoy decorating it.

Wrapping presents and finishing Christmas cards.

    Merry Christmas.

    Everyone take care, God bless.

Hi, I'm in Washington state too.  I think we'll be having Christmas for Valentines's Day at this rate.  The temperature today is supposed to be around 33-35 degrees.  I keep looking for any sign of melting.  It's not happening. I have power, chocolate, food and cigarettes so I'm good for a few more days.  I have one daughter that is used to driving in the snow so every few days she goes to the store for the rest of us.  I got out for a little while a couple of days ago.  The streets were good.  Let's all think sunshine and melting snow and see if it helps.

    Take care all

Come to Alaska to get warm.  I have lots of crafting tables, my food is stocked and starting tomorrow I can use some company for two weeks while I gimp around.  I have a big TV, broadband, and hot cocoa...and it is warmer here than many of the rest of the US states.
