Hickory Farms Update - Fat, happy Marines

One of the Marines I sent a Hickory Farms package to said they demolished their summer sausage and cheese while watching the inauguration.

Another one sent me this email today. The "fat, happy Marines" comment made me laugh, and the email made my day.:

    Susie,

I guess it is a good thing that I am writing because at this moment I am absolutely speechless. I have returned to find (4) EMPTY boxes of Hickory smoked sausage and cheese and FAT, HAPPY Marines with nothing but smiles on their faces. Really you did not have to go to such great lengths I really have no idea how to repay you or thank you for such kindness. Truly thank you so very much from me and my Marines you can not imagine how much something like this has truly lifted their spirits.

That Hickory Farms deal was a GREAT ONE! It made some Marines VERY happy, and boy, those packages got to Afghanistan and Iraq quickly!

    Susie :)

If there is anyway to pass these comments along to Hickory Farms, it would warm their hearts.  The company obviously did their part to make this happen.

That's what I was thinking. I plan to give Hickory Farms a call today to see how to forward this email to someone other than just standard customer servive. Thanks!

I just wanted to add that I got an email yesterday from one of the soldiers I sent the Hickory Farms package to..Actually he is not the AS contact, he is a friend of my daughter's/ Anyway I was amazed because I think it got there in less than a week. (he is on a large base and has ready access to email etc.He got the cute email notice form hickory farms when the order was placed and he sent me an email saying it really was not necessary, but he was so happy we did it).

I love reading stuff like this! How wonderful that you helped to bring smiles to their faces. Is there no better feeling in the world? Way to go (((Susie)))!!!! Keep us posted on what Hickory Farms reply is. I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have some extra meat and cheese hanging around... ;)

I got a nice letter from CSM Lockamy yesterday about the Hickory Farms stuff. It was dated 1/26/09. He said that he had received 2 boxes a couple of days earlier and would "ensure that these gifts are equally distributed amongst the troops." He also sent me a yellow ribbon magnet to stick on my car. It says 27th BSB and Roughriders on it. I was so surprised because I usually don't think anyone has time to write and also because I don't think there was anyplace to put a note on the order. It must have had a packing slip in it. I think it is great that people on this forum point stuff like the Hickory Farms sale out to the rest of us. I sent a bunch of stuff to several people. It's nice to know that it was actually received.

Congrats on your letter and magnet! The only place for a note I saw was right before you finalized the order. There were three lines available.

This was a great deal to find out about. I took advantage of it!

I called HF to see if I could "thank" someone personally. But, I was told it was best to do it via email, which I need to do!!
