    Re: 2009 overlooked contacts

I am in email contact with 2LT Chrisalyn Tate. I told her about the 50 day warning. She said she would update. A couple of days later her update was not showing up. I emailed her again of her status....she said she responded to the email that AnySoldier sent her so she didn't know why her update wasn't showing up and would check and see what was going on. I check it out everyday but I've noticed she still isn't updated. As of Thursday the 5th her address was still correct.

I sent a box to C Slattery a few weeks ago, but have heard nothing from him so I don't know if his group is still in the same place or not.

I'm just curious ... what is the criteria for someone to consider a contact "over looked?"

For example, if the contact has listed their contact number as 3 male and 3 females and the address has been requested 5 times, I wouldn't consider that overlooked.  However, someone else might.  Is there some sort of unwritten or written guideline to go by?

Actually, I normally wouldn't consider that overlooked either, but I posted it because it seemed clear that they have received letters (for which they are grateful) but no packages.

    Christi,

Marty once posted that we might consider any number of address requests under 5 as having no support since some never send anything, and some send one time.  That is part of the basis of overlooked, other than the contact posting that they haven't received any mail.

    Gran,

Thank you for the clarification.  I think it's better to ask than not to know, even if to some it seems like a crazy question.  I have learned a lot about sending packages, how to pack, what to pack, ect. since I learned about AS, and I continue to learn from the "seasoned" AS junkies.

I'm trying to get the hang of this so would this contact be considered "overlooked?"  Sgt Jesus J Sifuentes was added 2/11/09 200 Males and has only been requested 9 times.

    Re: 2009 overlooked contacts

    Christi,

Each of us have our own perspectives, but I consider that after several weeks and 200 people being represented, that is a low ratio of supporters to contacts, which is one way that I judge how well they are being supported.  My personal judgement about who I support is also determined by my feeling about how much they *seem* to me to need the kind of support that I can offer them.  We each support in different ways.
