Meant to put this here...sorry about the duplicate.

I just noticed that Kohls is running a pretty good sale on Vellux blanket - twin to king for $10.99 to $13.99, respectively - GREAT PRICE.  The codes listed above are still valid for 15% and free shipping....i.e. with your Kohls charge, you could ship a blanket to a trooper for $9.34!!  Woot!

30% off with Kohl's charge through Wed, May 20. Free shipping for $75 or more. Pillows $4.99. Sheets NOT on sale.

Anyone in touch with CPT John Jacobs? He's coming up on 50 days. He's chaplain for a large group and I'd like to send to him, but I want things to get there.

Re: Great deal on pillow and sheets

I ended up sending pillows to David Byrd at FOB Hammer. Then John Jacobs updated, but he didn't list pillows this time, so all worked out fine. Why do I worry? Things usually work out.

Had trouble with the Kohl;s website. Now I know to put APO in the city box. I think I sent pillows since I ended up doing it on the phone and haven't gotten an email. Maybe when they ship. I got 24 pillows shipped for $83.83 shipped. Sleep well, boys.

$84 for 24 pillows shipped sounds like a great bargain!  Your people will be smiling for a long time over that shipment!

I also sent 10 pillows from Kohls to David Byrd.  I hope they get them.

    Hi,

I think I've goofed when recently sent pillows & blankets from Kohls.  Do you mark the items as gifts or just have them shipped to the contact address?  When I purchased the items there was some reason I thought I shouldn't send them as gifts, but now I'm thinking I should have sent them as gifts.  I can't remember why I didn't send them as gifts, but it may have been that I was afraid they would receive 10 or 20 individual boxes.

I have sent pillows 3 different times to David Byrd and each time sent them directly to him, but not as a gift.  I believe they package 4  pillows to the box.  I think all the soldiers in David's group look forward to seeing Kohl's boxes come because they feel they will be one of the lucky ones to receive a pillow.  I am sending 40 pillow cases to him today with promises of more pillow cases being given.  If anyone wants to save their money at this time and not purchase pillow cases, I will post as I send them.  They also could use popcorn for movie night.

    Re: Kohls

Wow!  I have been thru the mill today with Kohls!  First I couldn't order online, so I called the online help desk (very nice) who couldn not help override.  It would not accept APO as the City.  So then I called the Customer Service that was able to override the system by using FPO with the zip and not APO.  I was one happy camper!  Until.....

I then received an order confirmation, quickly followed by an order cancellation.  Darn it!  So I scanned my contact's last letter with envelope, emailed it back to Kohls, explaining that I knew the address was good as he responds to every package.  In the meantime I ordered pillow cases from a different vendor.

So if anyone is planning to ship from Kohls to FOB Shank, 09364, you may want to wait until Kohl's straightens out the system.  I will say that they have been very professional and gracious.  Hopefully I can tug some heart strings with "no running water, living in tents, no breakfast".

Re: Great deal on pillow cases

I found a wholesale vendor for pillow cases, www.masterlinenscompany.com.  I bought 2 dozen standard Percayle pillow cases for $14.95 per dozen and shipping to APO is $14.95 for the two dozen.  They normally ship FedEx Ground so you will have to put a note in the comment section that it is an APO shipment and must go USPS.  For the "state" box I checked Non-US.

Now if I can just get Kohls to ship the pillows I'm in business!  Big Smile

Re: Kohl's 6 hour sale Saturday

Tomorrow (May 30, 2009) Kohn's is having an additional 10% off pillows, sheet sets, the big one fleece blankets, the big one bath towels from 7am to 1 pm. These give good prices.

But if I'm reading it right, you can get another 20% off and free shipping if you spend $100.00 or 15% off if you spend less.

buynsave20  or savefifteen are the promo codes.

The Big One pillows are going to be $4.49, sheets as low as $7.19 (!!), fleece blankets $10.99 and towels $2.99. If there's another 20% off, well Yay!!

    Who still needs this stuff?

I just sent 15 pillows and 6 blankets to David Byrd from Kohls. It's really quiet at work tonight. So I am shopping for the soldiers. I didn't send any pillowcases, though.

Re: Kohl's 6 hour sale Saturday

For small orders that don't qualify for the current free shipping offer on the site (any size - you can send one pillow to one guy), I think MVC7077 and MVC6390 will work for charge card purchases. (verified today)

MAYMVC15 is a 15% charge card holder code that is also valid (verified today - believe it's good through 6/10)

For those without Kohls charge, new4579 will give 10% off (verified today)

Don't forget to shop through mypoints, ebates (PM me if you'd like a $5 referral), upromise, etc - every little bit helps! Wink

I think I will send more towels and faceclothes to SGM Kellyanne ONeill.  She is such a sweetheart.
