OK guys, yesterday Donna L and CptDan'sMom's cards came in.  We're looking good girls!!!  I also finished writing in mine last night (I procrastinated just a little...)  We're waiting on 14 sets of cards to come in and from the sound of it most of them were mailed yesterday.  Boy, my mailman isn't going to like me much this week, lol!  (BTW, he's been delivering the cards to the WRONG house!  Thankfully I have a really great neighbor who keeps dropping them off at my house after the mailman messes up!  There's a N and a S and a plain Sawgrass so they've been going to the S Sawgrass... hmmmmm.  God bless the good neighbors!!!  I may have to tip them... Wink)

Mine mailed today, but since we're "neighbors" they should be there by Friday.  Thanks again for hosting--can't wait to see the end result.  If they are half as good as the summertime cards, they'll be spectacular!

I sent most of my summer ones to a young man who's been feeling a little forgotten as of late, just to show him he wasn't.  I got a note from him yesterday that said that box was the best one he'd EVER received, bar none, over two deployments.  Warm fuzzies card swappers, warm fuzzies all around!!!!

I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

Am so mad I could spit. Seriously.   I can't really get to a post office most weekdays due to my job, so I entrusted my cards to someone else who promised to go the post office, buy the stamps and mail it out for me.  So guess what they handed me back TODAY because they "didn't have time yesterday".  GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR Super Angry

I'll have to overnight them now (am thinking of taking the extra cash out of their hide) so they get there, but, by golly, they'll get there!   And at least they didn't LOSE them, thank goodness for small favors.

Kerri - will confirm tomorrow after my mom (who I trust!!) sends out for me.

Can't wait to see what everyone came up with. I went with a mostly computerized version this time...  but am hoping to get all cutting-pasting-ribbony-stickery for the next swap since I should have more time to narrow down my ideas.   And I'm buying stamps this weekend for that so I can drop them in any mailbox by myself!!!!!  Hmph.

    Christy,

Check with Kerri before you overnight them, that is really expensive.  There are 14 still sending cards.  You may not be the only one that doesn't arrive by Friday.  Also because it is a holiday week, it may take a little longer anyway.

Just send them priority mail.  Use click and ship at home and you can track it.  It is really the best way to go if you have the ability.  You will save money as well.  When you use priority, you can request a pickup by the post office and that way you don't have to worry about getting them there.   You are closer to Kerri than I am.  Your package might get there overnight using priority anyway.

Good luck, don't stress.  This is supposed to be fun!

Yes, don't overnight the cards.  We should still easily have time to get the cards to everyone and out to the groups so please don't spend the extra (I hope I've caught you in time!).  I will be out of town this weekend anyway (someone will be picking up my mail) because my uncle is having surgery and they don't know that he'll pull through it.  So, I will get the cards out probably Monday or Tuesday to get to you guys.  I'm sure we'll have enough time that our groups will get them before the 4th.

You guys help! I have been wicked sick and ended up having to buy most of my cards but still want to send them out. While cleaning my desk I think I tossed Kerri's address accidentally. Can someone PM it to me if possible? I would like to overnight these tomorrow even though she told the last person not to. Don't know if I can get email on here, but someone can email me at irishk49@yahoo.com. Thanks guys!

But each time a man stands up for an ideal, or strikes out against injustice, or seeks to improve the lot of others, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. And crossig eachother from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of opression and resistance." -Robert F. Kennedy

Yay!  OK, thanks...  whew.  I feel so much better.  (Except I'm still cranky that someone who knew something important to me was so casual about it. Hmph.)

Also, at the moment I have no printer at home til I buy a new one and just go to the post office.  Last I checked you had to print something out from the website when you click-n-shipped, don't you?

Can now fall back in cardswapper Paradise (paradise) and enjoy planning for the blank card all occasion fiesta of a swap for August! Smile

Yes, you have to print the shipping label with the postage on it.  That is part of the reason that you get the discount, I think because it frees up a postal worker.  I don't really know really, just a guess! Smile

Re: Card Swap 10 - 4th of July -- (DUE DATE MAY 29TH)

Just wanted to say my cards went out today too.

I fully intended to do it yesterday afternoon, after an eye appointment.  Little did I know it was a "comprehensive" appointment, so I was blurry-eyed and my pupils were blown (ps- what eye doctor does that to a patient on a bright summer's day?  Seriously, that's just MEAN! =)  Gah!) and I lay in bed shielding my eyes for a few hours making wimpering noises that were entirely unnecessary and missed the P.O. yesterday.

Anyway, my cards went out today, along with a dozen packages for a half a dozen contacts - and if anyone asks, carrying them into the Post Office is officially counting as my workout today, tyvm!!  =)

My uncle made it through surgery (he's a tough, stubborn old bird with more than 9 lives).  I will be going home on Sunday evening so the packages should be back in the mail to you all either Monday afternoon or Tuesday.

The following packages have been received according to my mail-picker-upper at home:

    Phillis

    Christi_95

    VickiV

    Kathryn M

    Martha

    Hill

    colourful

    and

    medic_1181

We are left with 5 outstanding packages and I've heard from at least 2 or 3 of these people that they are in the mail on the way.  If you have mailed your package but it is not listed in the first post as received (provided you haven't already let me know) please let me know they are in the mail.  If they are NOT in the mail and will not be in the mail please let me know that as well so that we don't sit and wait for something to show up that won't.  Thanks guys!  I can't wait to get these out to everyone and get them into our warriors hands!!!

Kerri.....happy to hear your uncles surgery went well and he is doing fine.   Don't rush home if you feel a need to stay there.

It'll only take two days for us to get the Priority envelope from you....and that still   leaves plenty of time to turn it around to our contacts.
