    Sunscreen and Yarn :)

Our local 5 Below store has Banana Boat SPF 50 for $5.00, big tube as well as other brand name sunscreens:)

And Michael's has a bin of yarns - acrylic worsted weights, baby yarns, bulkys, etc for $1.00 a skein.  Bin is right inside door by the carts.  You have to know which yarns are which tho cause they took off the brand names and put plain white bands on them marked $1.00 each.  Some of the bulky stuff also and homespun look stuff.  Didn't see any wools but they were just putting them out so will have to check later in the week.

Rats, I was at the next door Target last night and didn't go in Michaels. I'll have to try to get there later in the week.

If you use Homespun to knit prayer shawls, Hancock Fabrics is going to have it 40% off Thursday through Sunday this week. (June 11-14)  That makes it $3.17 a skein. Not a $, but pretty good these days.

Mellie - Receipts say 'as is no return' - hmmm - what does that mean?  Just thought I'd let you know:).  And only one of 2 Micheal's stores in my area had the bins - other one had only one type of yarn in a 99c bin.  Thanks for the heads up on the homespun.

Our Dollar Tree store had 4 oz tubes of sunscreen (SPF 30 with uva & uvb protection) for $1 yesterday.  You might check your local one.

Thanks for the tip.  For some, SPF 30 will do just fine, but we would still like to send a little bit higher SPF for some for some of the fairer-skinned ones that are in Iraq.  You certainly can't beat the price, and I'm happy to hear that it has both uva and uvb screening!

Hit the local Dollar Tree yesterday - YAY - they had the MAX Block SPF 30 4 oz tube for $1.00 with both kinds of protection:):).  So Thanks for the heads up on that one.

I also found lip balm - same company - MAX Block, with aloe and E - 2 for $1.00 made in USA.  Better deal than the other store I was getting it at:)!

Mr. Gran zipped by Dollar Tree today while he was shopping, and picked up several tubes of the sunblock.  We have been getting the lip balm since we found it about a year ago - can't beat the price, and like our daughter said when her son was in Iraq, she figures they will be losing nail clippers and lip balm pretty regularly in the sand, so a 2-pk. is a bonus.

If you missed the 40% off Homespun at Hancocks, they will have 30% off Homespun Monday, June22 to July 8. $3.70 a skein. Not as good as before, but still better than most sales. Hope they have more stock.
