I think when you request an address that you should recieve the info that they write on their page. It makes it easier if they have a huge list of requests.
Thank you for reading.

It is a very easy thing to copy and paste the address from the email, and go to the requests and copy and paste the list of requests to the same page. That is how we keep up with the info and then make notes on the page as they update and as we send something to them and when we get a reply we note if it is a note or email. We keep that page in our file box and if they change addresses, we make a new page to attach to that one - simple, since I don't do spread sheets.

The only reason I DON'T copy and paste the info from the website is because of the warnings all over the place that you're not supposed to - everything is copyright protected. Marty has a warning that specifically states NOT to print out the information found on the website. Call me a chicken, but I'd rather not set myself up for legal problems or be banned from the site.

I don't know if it is a security feature, but I am unable to copy and paste anything from the Any Soldier website. I can do it anywhere else but here. I had the idea to do what you had said when I first started here but was unable to.
I just do it the old fashioned way. I use index cards. I put their name and address, how many in their group, what counrty, and expected end date on the front. On the back I will write any special request they may have. Then when I send something I will write the date and a small note as to what I sent on the front.

Hi,
Have you tried copying using the hot keys? I'm not able to copy using the right click of the mouse, but I'm able to copy if I highlight the contacts information, select CTRL key and the letter C to copy and then I'm able to select the CTRL key and the letter V to paste into a word document or email. I'm also able to paste into a document using the right click of the mouse and selecting paste. I have to say some of the spacing is weird after I paste (double spaced lines), but I able to clean it up without too much trouble.
If this doesn't work, I wonder if the computer settings are keeping you from copying using the hot keys. If the hot keys don't work, I can ask my husband the computer guru if there's a setting you can change to allow this to work.

Call me simple minded if you wish, because I am, but to me, what I understand is that the info isn't to be published publicly, sent to anyone, etc., that it is simply for my eyes only (the person requesting the info). If I am to support a unit throughout their tour, I must have the info that I need to do it with, and to keep them separate from all the other hundreds of people we have sent packages to. I simply can't see the difference in copying and pasting their requests in their own words and writing notes in my words - doesn't make sense to me. There have been many times that I am writing notes by hand by battery powered lanterns when storms have knocked out our electricity and I can't get online. If I don't have my cheat sheets to work from, I simply can't do the job that I do - it's that simple. I have to have the info in a form that I can carry from room to room as I fill boxes, so I print out the necessary list, name, address, etc.

I Just thought it would easier if their wish list could come with the address in our email.

What I do is highlight the address on the email and copy and paste it to a document, then highlight, copy, and paste the items that I need to know from their message and put it on the same document as their address. From then on, I make note of updates, 50-day notices, etc. by hand on the same page until they end their tour.

I just found this information and I too was wondering why we couldn't get the requests printed out. I will print out the name sent by email but then had to rewrite everything on the back of the printed page. This takes some time. I will try what you suggested the next time I request a name. Do hope it works. Would save a lot of time. I too have been able to print pictures from another site I have used that would post pictures, then would keep with my address and requested items. Always good to have at a later date to refresh my memory who I have supported. I would love to be able to do the same here. Thanks everyone for all the great info.
