Hi Folks,
I got several coupies of a DVD on sale at my grocery store which I though would be a great guy kinda thing DVD to send but now I am wondering if it was a good idea. It is called The Best of Busnell's Secret of the Hunt Vol. 2. It features 10 hunts from Texas to Australia using bows, rifles, and muzzle loaders. I am wondering now if this "hunting prey" is a good idea to send to guys in a war zone. Would appreciate any thoughts and comments on this....especially from some of the male forum members.
Thanks,
Rosemary
Not being of the male persuasion but working with an avid hunter I can tell you from that perspective that a hunting video is a way to "let go" of the normal worries and concentrate on something else for a little while. Something for which he has a passion and has nothing to do with day to day activities.
Hope this helps some.

A lot of our guys do hunt and fish. It is one activity that they are missing. As a hunter, I love watching those shows, especially once hunting season is over and you have to wait till next year. A lot of conversations about past hunts that they have gone on will come about from those DVD's. Send the DVD's, it's not like your sending a war movie. You are sending them a reminder of a hobby that they may have enjoyed in the real world. Just my thoughts.
I've seen request for Hunting Magazines so I'm sure hunting DVD's would be just as welcome. I've included some of my husbands magazines and I received a big thank you as the soldiers were avid hunters. I agree with Gabriel, it will give them something to talk about....tell their big hunting stories.

Since there are requests for Field and Stream, and Guns and Ammo magazines, I would think that they would like them - just my opinion. Most of them are grown and far from naive. Now, if it was the movie Deerslayer, I don't know that I would send it.
