    Items under pressure?

    Hello all,

As usual I apologize if this has been addressed already as I have not had time to read through all the forums. I am wondering about sending canned items that are under pressure. It seems it would not be a good idea to send these items now do to the extreme heat, but I have seen recent requests for canned cheese in particular. Also wondering about items such as silly string or travel size shaving cream. Is there any possibility of these items exploding in transit?

     Thanks.

Few men will have the greatness to bend history itself. But each time a man stands up for an ideal, or strikes out against injustice, or seeks to improve the lot of others, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope. And crossig eachother from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of opression and resistance." -Robert F. Kennedy

If you do a search, you will find many discussions on the items mentioned.  The last I heard pressurized cans cannot be shipped via air.  You can find shave cream and gel in tubes and there is cheese in plastic squeeze containers and plastic jars.

If you check the other posts, you will get more information than you will ever need.

    Welcome.

Wow.  When one gets tired of answering the same old question, maybe it would make sense to pass it by!  Devil

OP - I think you are right on track with not shipping these pressurized items in the extreme heat.   And it is true that they are not shippable by air via the USPS.    So, it's good that you inquired!

I've had soldiers & Marines tell me that they receive them just fine (from other people) in the colder months though and not understand the concern/vigilence of AS supporters on this subject.

Here's a thread that you might find useful:  http://forum.anysoldier.com/forums/t/34.aspx?PageIndex=1   I found it by typing "Pressurized" in the search box.  You can try other thigns to find other existing discussions.

    Have a great day!
