    The Hurt Locker movie

    Hi All

I thought someone posted something about the movie earlier, but couldn't find it in a search, so sorry if this is in the wrong spot.

However, we went to see it last night. (Yes, they are actually showing it here, BIG surprise) I will not spoil it, but you have to see it if you get a chance. It was amazing.  I am not sure I have ever been so tense throughout an entire movie before. Really opens up a whole new world.  Even if we, as Junkies, have been doing this for a while, I don't think one really gets a sense of the day to day things.  Anyway, watching it as a Junkie, I have to say that I left the theater thinking that I have GOT to send a box of juice and flashlights.  I will leave it at that, and see what others say.

Heidi I saw it too; had to drive a good ways to see it and it was SO worth it. I laughed, I cried, I sat on the edge of my seat mostly. I think every junkie will walk out of the movie with a better perspective - and their own list of the things that they want to include in their next box!

Here is a link to the movie site - see if there's a theater near any of you that's showing it:

I would suggest visiting the movie website to see if your city is listed. Mine is not, and it is being shown. So, please check your local theater.  We were looking for showtimes for a different movie when my husband found it was being played here. So, check your local listings! *G*

Without giving anything away, can you tell me this?

Do we need to take Kleenex, and if so, how much?

I think I cried the entire 3.5 hours of "Saving Private Ryan"...Crying

I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn't, than live my life as if there isn't and die to find out there is.

It's not in the Saving-Private-Ryan genre as far as tragic loss; though it's war and there are still casualties. Take a few kleenex, but more importantly take your heart meds before you go --- some major suspense! That's the majority of the movie. Sitting on the edge of your seat.

    Re: The Hurt Locker movie

I only teared up once, and that was the juice scene, of all things.  So, I agree, take a little travel packet of kleenex, you will be fine. It is an eye opening experience and an edge of your seat movie, I agree with that!  It is just a year in the life type of movie. you will laugh and cry, but I wasn't heart broken when I left, or heart sick. I had made a list of things to send in my pacages, though, let me tell you!!! *G*  It reaffirmed sending packages to the folks over there, as if I need any urging.  I sent a package out monday to my group and I am all ready with another near about!

Just returned from seeing this movie with my husband. It certainly made you think about our guys and the things they must deal with daily.

yes, 6 Oscars from our lowest grossing movie! For once I think the voters must have had a brain cell among them all! They went with content over budget.
