    AC Moore

Don't know if this is the right place to put this......but I was at AC Moore yesterday and came across Christmas color yarn (you know the multi-colored one.....red, green and white) as well as the sparkle green and sparkle red.   The reason I mentioned this is I know of crafters that might want to get a jump start on Christmas things.   I was happy to see the yarn I need and can get started on the little stockings again.   The clerk asked what I was making and I told her stocking for the soldiers.   Then I proceeded to talk about AnySoldier and she commented that her mom is a member (small world)....then she gave me the employee discount off all my craft stuff.   NICE.......never hurts to chat a bit and get a discount  Big Smile   Silly me....never asked who her mom is......

Anyway....just FYI for anyone thinking ahead a few months like me

Thanks for posting this Anne Marie.  I bought some of this a couple of weeks ago at our local A.C. Moore with some 50% off coupons and used it to knit scarves.  It works up really nice and makes a really cool fringe too.,  I've been soooo busy all last month I completely forgot to post it.  Soo - Thanks for posting it.  The multi-color gr/red with the gold thread is really neat.

PS Where did you get the mini stocking pattern? I've been looking for one of those without luck lately.  I need a knit one and all I can find are 'wrap' kinds:).

Thanks for the heads up, Anne Marie.  I've been on the lookout for the Christmasy yarns and hadn't seen any yet.  Gotta work on those stockings.

Re: AC Moore...Knittting Pattern on Double Pointed Needles for Mini Christmas Stockings

This link can be found on the KnittingHelp.com website under the thread for Charity Knitting. We are also making mini stockings for the troops. If you use double pointed needles, you might want to try pattern posted on Dustina's Blog: http://mountaineerknitter.blogspot.com/2009/06/christmas-stocking-pattern-for-dpns.html

    Thanks everyone for the help.

I was just checking out another site and found something called Woolley Nylon yarn/thread:) - apparently it's used in heel/toe of socks and slippers to reinforce them. Cool.  Anyone ever use it before?  Sounds like it would be good for slipper/sock stuff so they don't wear out so fast.
