    Charge for Returned Boxes?

Customs form says "Items returned to sender a subject to return charges at the owner's expense"   Has anyone out there acutally been charged?

I've gotten a few boxes back, never been charged.

There is no charge for a returned FRB. I've never had a package returned, either, but all I use are FRB's, and I have been told by the clerk at the post office that there is no charge for returned FRB's.

When shipping using any of the Priority Mail boxes, including FRB, there is no charge for returned packages.  It is possible that you might have to pay for return of parcel post, media mail, or other types of packages.  I have had 3 packages returned since 2004, and they were all FRBs.

Yes, I have been charged.  Three of the boxes I sent last  13th & 14th of November (2008) were returned in January and February of 2009.  Sending one box alone was over $60.00  Having that one box alone returned cost me almost $70.00.   That was an expensive box.  The other boxes that were returned only cost me $8.00 each.  A very expensive Christmas to say the least.

Thank you Canada Post Xpresspost. (It is the quickest way to send packages over seas and is insured and trackable).

There shouldn't be a charge for a box returned if it is shipped priority mail - part of the deal shipping priority is that, if it is returned, you aren't charged.  Even if you do not use a USPS box.  Use a USPS priority mail label and priority tape.  I had a brown box shipped this way returned several months after I shipped it and was not charged.  It says this someplace on the USPS web site about no charge for returned priority mail:).  Least it used to:)

Happy surfing the USPS web site.  Of course I have no clue what applies when shipping from another country:).
