    Embarrassed [:$] The Heat

For those who have a little more experience( or maybe pay better attention than I ).... what is the general time line for the heat to abate in Iraq and Afghanistan?

I have been seeing posts that it started getting warm in Iraq ( 105 degrees ) in March.  I have seen nothing on the heat in Afghanistan ( not looking hard enough maybe ?).

If 105 is "warm" I really, really don't want to know what hot is.  I can barely take the high 70's myself.  Gotta love our men and women in fatigues!

    Babs,

It's my understanding that things start to cool down in October.  The last report I got on the temp in the NE mountains of A-Stan (where it's cooler) was 110 during the day.  About this time last year at Ghazni a contact mentioned it being 120.  I'm guessing that Southern A-Stan would be warmer, just as Southern Iraq is much warmer than Northern Iraq.

    Re: The Heat

    Hello

Here is a helpful map of the temps of the area of Gardez but also shows general maps of Afghanistan, Iraq and the region.

Remember that the elevation in the mountains of Afghanistan creates a lower day temp and it can get cool at night, up there.

    Blessings, door
