    Still here too!

I'm still here, just not on the forum as much! My husband was in a car accident while on duty as a police officer in December of 2007. Unfortunately, the accident caused a permanant disability and he will not be able to go back to work. It has been difficult here since then to support 9 kids. My oldest is now in college.  We are staying busy! Still sending packages, but have gotton a few new units since most of ours have come home. Hope all is well with everyone else!

    mrsnorthcarolina,

It is good to hear from you again.

I can still envision the picture of your kids handprints on the sheet banners you were making for the soldiers.

Sorry to hear of your husbands injury. If I can be of any assistance feel free to send me a email.

    Welcome back!

    Hi Mrsnorthcarolina,

I am happy to see you on here checking in.  Amazing that you are still sending packages when it is hard to support your family.  It goes to show that it can be done.  I am really sorry to hear about your husband.  I will pray for him that maybe someday he will be able to work again.

Wow! So glad to see everyone chiming in here! mrsnorthcarolina, I am so sorry about your husband. :(  I will pray he is able to get out and find something he enjoys doing, for PAY, soon!

My mom is back in the hospital, the cancer is really acting up. Cancer is a wicked enemy but mom has been battling it like a good soldier! She is amazing. I'll try and get on here when I can. Everyone take care!

    Hi Julie,

I don't think that I have said hi, yet.  So, hi!!  I am sorry to hear about the rough ride with cancer that your mom is having. I will continue to pray for her.

I'm still here and also on Facebook. One of my old contacts is deploying again so I plan to ramp up my support.

    It's all about karma.

    Re: Still here too!

Hi everyone, I have sad news to report. My mom lost her battle with pancreatic cancer yesterday, Oct. 4. She died peacefully and painless at home with her family around her. She was the bravest person I have ever know personally. Even when she was so sick, she gave me money to be able to ship out boxes to my soldiers. So they became "her" soldiers, too. She loved me reading their emails they would send me, to her. Her life was cut way too short by that horrible, nasty disease. Her funeral is this Friday, when you get dressed that day, wear purple in honor of my mom. Purple is the color for pancreatic cancer, like pink is for *** cancer. Thanks for all of your support, you are an amazing group of people and I am proud to work with you!

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. She must have been a wonderful woman, I know you will miss her. I will find something purple to wear Friday in honor of her and will be thinking and praying for you and your family.

I don't know if anyone here remembers me, but I've been around a while, just not on the forums lately. I've been sending to 6-12 units monthly for several years so am another junkie. Just sent 13 boxes to A-Stan today. Good to see some people I recognize - especially Thistle Woman (JoCee). Still cracks me up that someone uses a thistle flower for a pic - lol.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom, MustangLover. Big hugs to you and your family.
