I just packed up 2 boxes for them. They have an automatic BP machine with regular and large cuffs, one stethoscope, a dozen NPAs, a dozen OPAs, 2 large bottles aspirin, 3 large bottles Aleve, 6 cartons of assorted bandaids. Hopefully, I will make it to the post office with them later today.

Packed up 3 boxes that will go out in the next couple of days.  Can you tell it's Costco coupon time? Smile

    3 boxes asst'd Band-aids (165 total)

    2 x 2oz 1% hydrocortisone cream

    anti-diarrheal (24 caps)

    2 x 500 tabs Ibuprofen

    Excedrin (300 tab bottle)

    2 boxes non-latex exam gloves, size L

    2 x 4" Ace wrap

    1 x 6" Ace wrap

2 small box tubular stretch bandage

1 each small bottle Tylenol and Advil

    2 bags Halls cough drops

    10 pack instant cold packs

1 box snack-sized zip bags (for doling out pills?)

20 pairs boxer briefs (should I wash them first, or is it weird to get chonies out of the wrapper from complete strangers?)

I also have a friend who is sending a couple of boxes--she is not on the forum, but I think her things include an ophthalmoscope, BP cuff, steth, and lots of gauze in assorted sizes.

Thanks again to everyone. Our packages should begin arriving any day now. I haven't heard back from Uriah but I'll let everyone know if I do. If anyone hears fim or one of the guys please let us know.

    Hey Everyone,

Uriah posted today. It was just a simple post that he got a mass supply to his requests and that he doesn't need it to be posted any longer. I will continue to send regular packages with snacks and stuff atleast until he drops. It sounds as if our efforts to get medical supplies to this unit was a success. Thanks Guys again for your help.

Re: Soldiers in Iraq Need Medical Supplies

I recieved a letter from Uriah sometime in the last week (I was out of town). We have done well junkies. For now the issue of medical supplies is taken care of. If any one out there has pocket size field guides they could use some of those however. Uriah sayes that they are not only treating their fellow soldiers who are injured but detainees also. That's not really that big of deal except that they were trained to take care of combat related injuries not chronic medical problems or as he said medical problems at all. He sayes they pretty much are winging it for medical issues for both their commarads and the detainees. I picked up the only 2 field guides that Barnes and Noble had today. They are pocket size one EMT/Intermediate and one Paramedic. Other than that he said thank you for all the support and that he would be getting letters out to the rest of you that sent supplies but it may take awhile first off because he recieved 39 boxes in a week and a half second (these are his words) the Air Force took over the mailing system and they are slow. Thanks again everyone for your help.
