Thank you Amtracer.
This site has seen great success in supporting the troops, but honestly, has one lousy business model. We never intended to be a business, but as you say, we do have bills. BIG ones too. Just the servers alone cost $1,500 a month.
This 'economy' has devistated a lot of people, and we are no exception. Being donation-based it follows that if folks don't have money they can't donate. What upsets me is that folks HAVE money and ignore what is posted, WE ARE DONATION-BASED.
We have eliminated all employees in this organization but 3. One full timer and two part timers. Between those 3 people in excess of 150 hours a week is put into this site. For the first time in our 6 years are are in debt.
I have asked several times for supporters to take a break from their troop support and send a note to folks to help spread the word about AnySoldier.com. What really ticks me off are the 'organizations' that steal our data. I found one just yesterday taking our addresses and they turn around and email just anyone an address every week. THEY request donations, of course, they haven't helped us one bit. You would be shocked at the organizations we have blocked doing something like this. Honesty and common sense seem to be optional when it comes to "well, they are OUR troops!"
This site is about to close. We are fighting this tooth and nail and my family has financed the survival so far, but we have exhausted that ability. If it werent for our amazing friends (like Steffen at BlackbarnMedia.com who manages our servers, and a few of our merchants) we would be dead. We need your help.
Thanks, very much, for your support.
