What If This Site Closed Down ???

I listed this under Emergency Postings for a reason...

Fully aware how much everyone just "LOVES" this Site...
Good People doing a Great thing...for FREE...

The Names are FREE not the "Operational Expenses...
Someone has to pay for Lights, Camara, Action, Website,Bandwith etc...
(Other sites are Charging for the Names and Addresses...)

Well there comes a time where EVERYONE has to pay the Fiddler...
    That time is NOW...

We are in "REAL DANGER" of  this site Shutting Down...
    for "Lack of Site Support"...
This isn't a "Cry Wolf"...it is TRUE FACT...

I know everyone...yes everyone can afford to Donate...
$5.00-$10.00 to support the AS site today...
Personnaly I make a Monthly Donation...
Whats it cost me..."One (1) less carton of Cigarettes a month..."

Remember it is this site AS that allows us to do what we do...
A Donation to the AS Site is the same as Fulfilling a Critical Need of a Warrior in the Field...
Because without it the Troops would not have any place to Post their NEEDS..

I PRAY that you will help me fulfill this CRITICAL NEED at THIS TIME<<<<<

PS: This Posting was made by me not AS...I am just a Fellow Supporter/Veteran...

    Thank you Amtracer.

This site has seen great success in supporting the troops, but honestly, has one lousy business model.  We never intended to be a business, but as you say, we do have bills.  BIG ones too.  Just the servers alone cost $1,500 a month.

This 'economy' has devistated a lot of people, and we are no exception.  Being donation-based it follows that if folks don't have money they can't donate.  What upsets me is that folks HAVE money and ignore what is posted, WE ARE DONATION-BASED.

We have eliminated all employees in this organization but 3.  One full timer and two part timers.  Between those 3 people in excess of 150 hours a week is put into this site.  For the first time in our 6 years are are in debt.

I have asked several times for supporters to take a break from their troop support and send a note to folks to help spread the word about AnySoldier.com.  What really ticks me off are the 'organizations' that steal our data.  I found one just yesterday taking our addresses and they turn around and email just anyone an address every week.  THEY request donations, of course, they haven't helped us one bit.  You would be shocked at the organizations we have blocked doing something like this.  Honesty and common sense seem to be optional when it comes to "well, they are OUR troops!"

This site is about to close.  We are fighting this tooth and nail and my family has financed the survival so far, but we have exhausted that ability.  If it werent for our amazing friends (like Steffen at BlackbarnMedia.com who manages our servers, and a few of our merchants) we would be dead.  We need your help.

Thanks, very much, for your support.

I've made a donation - $20 was all I could spare, but I hope it helps at least a little. I've also put a plea out on Twitter for people to visit the site and donate if they can. I hope that's okay, Marty...

Re: What If This Site Closed Down ???

Alright junkies and everyone else reading this forum it's time to show Marty and Any Soldier what we can do. We have united before to make the impossible possible. This site needs our help! This month I sent letters instead of packages to my troops and my monthly allowance was put in the mail to any soldier this past weekend. I know that many of you think that your soldiers can't go without packages for the month, however I think that if they knew this site is about to close due to finances they would make do just fine. Think of it this way they depend on us and we depend on Any Soldier, without the web site we all lose in the long run. Everyone please think about it atleast thats all that I ask. $10 might not seem like it will go far for Any Soldiers bills but if we all send $10 it will be a great relief for Marty and his staff I'm sure of it. Like the original post I am nothing more than a supporter of this site and the US Military.

Well, I've already sent my packages, but I will make a donation to the site in the morning.  I hope we all will pitch in with what we can.

Marty - during the summer, when I clicked on the "where to send" tab, a box popped up with a reminder to donate.  I thought that was very effective, if it's possible to do that again.
