Hi, AJ -- You might want to try the AnySoldier Chat Room --  I sent you an e-mail through the Forum just now on how to get in there.

I can't logon to it.  The military has denied access to it!

AJ,  if you can receive  emails, you might mention what teams and/or sports you are most interested in and invite folks to send you an enmail through this forum.  Then you could establish an ongoing dialogue with someone who shares your interests.

    Thanks Kathy.

I like the dialogue here!  An e-mail does fine as well.  If anybody wishes, please send me an e-mail or post something on here.

    Re: Sports

For pro team it is the AZ Cardinals

College it would be the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Arizona State Sun Devils

Semipro would be the South Metro Dragons in Minnesota.  I was the trainer for a few games for them before my team merged with them.

    How about you!!!

    Re: Sports

For pro - Steelers and college - Penn State.

I almost got disowned by my family when I made a friend of mine a Baltimore Ravens blanket (all Steeler's fans).

Not too familiar with semipro, but I'm going to check out the site you posted.

If you register on there forum, you will see me there as well.  Before I joined the military, I was a message board junkie for almost a year!  I am getting back to my old self working this desk nightly!!! lol

Semipro ball is a little different than your college, pro and even high school ball.  There are teams all over the nation.  If I knew where you lived, I could find you 2 or 3 teams within 1 hour of you!  I have been involved with teams in Phoenix, Nebraska, Minnesota, and Georgia.  I have also been part of many different league forums and have talked to a number of people across the nation setting up games.

I could also see where there might be some conflict with your blanket situation!!! lol  My wife and I get into it because she just likes conflict.  I like the Cardinals and she likes everybody else!!! lol

    I'm in Delaware.

     What makes semipro different?

Nothing wrong with a little conflict - it can make things fun!

    Re: Sports

The caliber is at a different level.  Faster than high school but not quit the college pace.  Some teams, however, are quit fast and very good.  My team back in Minnesota, has very good players.  The offensive line is that of a NFL size line.  The QB is older but, very good.  The coach is a former Minnesota Vicking!

If a team doesn't click very good and fights a lot among themselves on the sidelines, then they are sure to loose.  I have unfortunatly been apart of too many of those kind of teams.  When they mesh well, and don't fight, they have a much easier time of winning.  There is a lot of diversity on the teams.  Some of the players are very good and do go onto higher levels of the game.  Some get into arena teams and now some of them are getting onto the new league UFL.

You would have to go to a game and I could hook you up with some people there in your area.  I do know some people in that area!

Here is a website you could check out in your area.  There are other leagues around there as well.  I don't know any of those teams, but I can learn about them in just a little bit of time!!

    Do you like baseball?

I am a Phillies Phan!  My favorite current player is Jimmy Rollins.  I've been to a few games each year at the new ballpark.  It's a nice ballpark.  Fun to sit in different sections and a whole new perspective and learn/see something new each time.

I am also a season ticket holder for Rutgers women's basketball.

That's about it for sports.  I used to be an Eagles fan :(  but not anymore.

    Re: Sports

I am not a huge baseball fan.  I watch a little bit on the tube, but that is because that is all that is on there!!!  I do however, like the Diamondbacks.  I grew up in Phoenix, so I am quit partial to all the teams in that area.  I have been to a few Diamondbacks games.  I was quit impressed with how they built that stadium from a run down slum and condemed infested area!

I don't know what the Philly's ballpark looks like, but I am sure it is nice if it was just built within the last few years.

I am a sports person so I do get around to watching and catching up on almost all the sports.
