Anyone notice Gregory Zelmer post today?  It said 52 people have requested, I bet people have requested and just sent one time. Anyway just noticed it.

    Mags,

I just wonder if that happened with a lot of people who registered shortly before Christmas. You know, lots of people wanted to send Christmas cards and things like that at the holidays but haven't done very much since.

I run into a lot of contacts I had from that time no longer being on here. I guess they stop doing their updates. When they aren't here, I'm not sure about sending them anything else...and usually don't...although I have written a few "Where are you? Are you still there?" letters in hopes of initiating contact again.

To answer his "z" question, I often START with the z's because I'm inclined to request the first two that grab my heart only to discover that they ALL grab my heart.  Like everyone on these forums, I wish I could help all of these contacts!!

Yess I think you are right RGG, good intentions at Christmas.   I'm thinking about requesting his address, since I had one go home.  And yes when you read their posts you want them all.  Unfortunatly we are not able financially.

I also noticed Gregory Zelmer's post today, and I think that you all are right about a lot of people requesting near Christmas. However, now his address has been requested 60 times-- that's a good sign! I think that I will also be requesting his information soon! Big Smile

    Hi, All,

I agree...probably many people sent a card or one box at Christmas with no subsequent support.  I also read every post every day....perhaps I will start with the Z's.  It's difficult not to want to support every one of them.  I wish we had a way to "checkmark" each post that we might want to go back and support as we have contacts return home.  I make notes as I read, but it would be so much easier if we could somehow mark our selected posts.

I promised not to pick up more contacts now, but I already have one new one this week.  I suppose one more won't "break the bank" LOL!  Don't want the Z's to think we've forgotten them...I was a "W" so I know how that goes.

I think that from now on I will start reading the post's starting at the z's. A lot of people probably just start reading at the top of the list, and never really make it to the z's-- and we definetly don't want them to feel left out! The idea of "checkmarking" the post's that you might want to go back and support is interesting, maybe you should add it to the site/forum suggestions...

    Re: Zelmer

Did anyone notice the difference in writing styles between the last message and all the prior ones?  Looks like it might be two different people.  I wonder if it is an alternate and if Gregory is ok.  Just wondering, don't mean to stir up anything.

I'm not going to name names, but I know of a supporter who only supports people with Z names... they swear it's not intentional... but I mean- comon.  Stick out tongue

I picked 2 Mustang people within our means to support, am I doing something wrong?

I write letters to other troops and that is all I can do for them right now.

Oh, and Zelmer is adorable...I just can't add him to my shopping list right now! I will send him a letter, though.

Just noticed that 82 people have now requested his mailing address.  That's 30 new requests since Mags first started this thread.

It seems he's getting plenty of support now!  I can't understand why the letter 'Z' has anything to do with it though.  Seems strange he'd say that.  He didn't seem to be lacking much before he said that.
