My local grocery store has Wolf brand chili on sale for real cheap ($1 a can) right now, and I checked with one of my Army contacts to see if they wanted some (of course!) and asked him about a can opener. Seems the Army issues them Leatherman tools, which is a multi-purpose tool, which has a can opener, so he said I didn't need to send one. Just recently found some salsa and queso in cans also. Sent tortillas, refried beans, salsa and queso. I bought a can of the salsa and while it's not as good as Pace, it's pretty flavorful. Good idea about the Campbell's soup. I would never have thought about that.
