Funny you would post that today. Just a day or two ago on one of the morning shows, they showed some items involving young people, and showed a freezer pop maker that has the tubes that you can fill and seal yourself with whatever you want to use. I believe that I remember that it came with some kind of filler, but you can use any kind of flavored liquid, like juices, etc. I didn't have a chance to note the name of it, but I think it was on NBC, and may be shown on their web page.

It is just a brand name for freezer pops. Same thing.

Forgive my ignorance but I don't know what an otter pop is. Is similiar to freezer pops ? a long plastic filled with different flavored liquids that can be frozen? Maybe they just don't sell them here in the Northeast

I thought I should make it clear that I am not in any way suggesting that we make them for the troops at home, but some units may be able to fill them and freeze them if we sent the maker and some filler like the boxed juices for kids.

i've read a lot of soldiers requesting otter pops: otter pops are expensive to send, but it turns out you can make something similar using jello and ice-cube trays (or the more official popsicle molds made by tupperware...) this would be nice because it would fit into a flat envelope...?
