    Michael Briggs requests legos!!!

Michael Briggs posted today that he would like some lego sets for his group!  He said "yes, the toys...it may sound funny, but it takes your mind off the bad stuff."  Anybody have any "gently used" sets their children no longer need taking up space in your closets/basements just waiting to be sent to Iraq??  How about you, Nick...maybe you could ask your friends??  take care everyone, Laura

Oh, do I have Legos!  I have one of the plastic sweater-size containers full of them that we bought in the '80s for our two grandsons to play with here at the house to keep them occupied.  They are mostly the plain building ones, not many of the special packages, though.  I surely do wish the bigger FRBs were available now, as the regular ones won't hold them all.

I can just imagine them getting boxes and boxes of legos:)  They could build an entire city!

Well, I actually managed to cram all of the Legos in a FRB, but no room for anything else in it - FULL!  It's packed up and ready to go.  We gave the grandchildren the large base plate for them, though, so they could still use those.

Wow, Gran, that was quick! They're going to be thrilled, I think!

I do believe this is the third time in a row that I have read a post and then someone posts about it on here lol

When our grandson was in Anbar Province during the really hot period, they passed time with hackey sacks and CDs.  That is about all they had besides a gym.

Legos are going to the PO today with Mr. Gran.  My homepage is set for Google, and this morning when I logged on, I noticed that Google was written with Legos in honor of Lego's 50th birthday.

    Re: Michael Briggs requests legos!!!

Just in case anyone is curious, we received a reply from Michael Briggs Sat. about the Legos, and he mentioned that his wife worked where they make Legos so she would send some to them at times, and that they enjoyed playing with them and it helped to keep their minds off of what was going on for a while. He hasn't had access to reliable internet until they just now got an internet cafe, thus the slow response, which is possibly the case with many people.

He also mentioned that they were awaiting the arrival of their first baby together, a girl.  He did send a picture of himself, but not the others or the Legos.

Their squad runs security, and they are happy to have gotten one of the new MRAP vehicles to replace the more dangerous Hummers.

Another contact a while ago asked for Legos.  I sent some mis-matched sets, including some from the 70's I'd gotten at a yard sale.  In my note I mentioned that those might not fit together with the rest of what I'd sent.  I received a nice "thank you" card with the note  "We're the Army; we'll MAKE them fit!"  :-)

The ones that we sent were a mixture of sets we had bought on clearance back in the '80s when our two older grandsons were young to play with when they were visiting us overnight, so they were so experienced that they might just jump together by themselves - lol!
