    Send funny e-mails

One of the items that I sent in my first package to my adopted Marines, was a binder with a few funny and supportive e-mails that I printed off my computer.  Every package I send now, has some more hole punched e-mails forwarded from friends that I think will help lift spirits and make 'em smile.  The last pages I sent were well received, this is what my contact person said, "The weather is getting hot.  Sucks the will to live right out of you sometimes.  Your funnies brought me back today from the edge.  Thank you so much."

good idea.. we all get those! no reason why we can't print them out..

also, the Sunda comics are supposed to be good.. my neighbor (the Marine) said to send the weekly paper-- haven't done that yet, but I might! well except to the UNC fans who got the front page Sports about UNC...(good thing)

Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in
the world. But, our Marines and Service Men and Woman don't have that
    problem." -- Ronald Reagan

I think that is a great idea! We often send our entire daily newspaper for whatever day it happens to be. But I also try to include *FUNNY* stuff that happens on a day to day basis. For example, my daughter competes in beauty pageants. One of the contestants in a recent pageant [not my daughter!] got the question "What is your most embarassing moment?" The girl answered, "I was once asked what I wanted to be when I grew up. And my answer was, "When I grow up, I want to be a dog." And she truly believed that she could be a dog when she grew up. It came out later that she was MUCH younger when this happened, but we still laugh over it! Embarrassed

Sunday funnies are a big  hit with my Marines.  Being kids at heart, they still like to read the funnies.

My niece's little girl was asked what she wanted to be when she grew up.  Kayla said she wanted to be a cheerleader. You should have seen the look on her father's face.  Priceless!

She is sixteen now, a cheerleader, a champion vollyball player and an honor roll student.
