USPS to add cheaper military mailing box rate

I have just mailed 34 boxes to 8 units.  During the processing of the Flat Rate Boxes, the postal employee mentioned there will be a new mailing box that can be used for military mailings that will be cheaper than the Flat Rate Box.  Please check with the USPS if you are planning a large mailout to see when the new price will take effect.  Also, I chose units, packed a box and kept a list of items in the box for filling out the customs form.  During the time taken to pack the boxes, three units addresses were deleted.  I chose other units with about the same number of soldiers and sent the boxes to those units.  Since you can only request 2 addresses per day, you might hold off from sealing a box until you are sure that unit address is still available.

Troop Smiley 2 Are these the new larger FRB's that you get a $2 discount if you are mailing to military or are these totally new FRB's that I haven't heard about yet?

Is this the same thing that we were talking about in this thread?

Yes!  I called and asked the people I normally call to order the FRB and asked if I could order the new ones and she said not until Feb. 20.  Then when I went to the post office, the post mistress showed me the notice she had received saying the same thing ...that I could call and order them on Feb. 20.  She said she would have them on Mar. 3. in the post office.   When you order the boxes to be sent to your home they always say allow 7 - 10 days but usually they arrive sooner.
