I'm enclosing the email that I sent out to family and friends today....which explains the program I've started.
I'm excited about getting this going. I shipped out the first two boxes to Any Soldier contacts yesterday. Also, even though I just sent out my email this afternoon, I've already got a $25 committment to help pay for postage. So I'll be sending out more seasoning by the end of this week. Thanks to Marty and others that responded to my questions about how to get this going. We may be a little company, but we're glad to at last find a way to do something for the troops.

Help Make “Operation Make MRE’s Taste Good” a Success!
As many of you might know, military troops deployed out in the field are supplied with packaged food called MRE’s (Meals Ready to Eat). While this packaged food has improved since the K-rations of World War II, it is not a culinary delight to say the least.
A company in Central Texas has accepted the challenge of trying to make the MRE’s more palatable. Mesquite Country Seasoning™ is an all-purpose seasoning created by blending salt, garlic, black pepper, chili, and other special spices (www.mesquitecountryseasoning.com). It has been sold at Arts & Crafts shows, Hunting Expos and other community events for more than 25 years. During one of these shows a woman approached the staff asking what she could send to her son (who is serving in Iraq) to add some spice to his food. Her question made the owners of Mesquite Country Seasoning start asking themselves how they could support our overseas troops by improving the flavor of their meals.
And so “Operation Make MRE’s Taste Good” was born. The owners of Mesquite Country Seasoning have created individual packets of their seasoning to send to the troops. The addresses of soldiers are provided by the nonprofit organization www.AnySoldier.com. The major expense is the postage. This is where you can help.
Each box costs $5 to mail to Iraq. Donations are gladly accepted. Send cash or a check to Mesquite Country Seasoning marked to be used for Operation MRE. The money will only be used for postage. Mesquite Country Seasoning is not making any profit from this program.
