Any Soldier has been supporting my company for several months so thought I'd jump on and introduce myself. My name is 1SG Michael Frans. I am the company 1SG for D CO 1/508th PIR, 82d Airbone Division based out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. We are an M1114 UAH anti-tank company. I've been in the military for 21 years, married, have four wonderful children (One in the Army scheduled to go to Iraq). I'm currently serving a 15 month tour in Afghanistan.

Hello! My name is Katie, and I live on a farm in Western Pennsylvania. I will be a high school senior this fall. I am 17 now, and I have been benefiting from AnySoldier for well over a year now. As soon as the war started I felt that I should do something to help the troops, but I could find nothing. After listening to a marine give a very moving talk at my church, I began to actively search out ways to support America's finest. I came across AnySoldier, and I've been addicted ever since. Recently my mom told me I couldn't get on the site until I spent at least 15 minutes per day preparing for the SAT...now that's practically child abuse...I almost cried!
In my room are countless letters and pictures from many Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors. My email account is also full of pictures and emails from My Soldiers. My communication with the troops has truly changed me. I have laughed, cried, and prayed with them. They are a part of my family, and I will never forget them. We've shared a part of our lives with each other and I believe we're better for it.
My most recent undertaking was to coordinate a school-wide collection for care packages through my community service club. It was a great success and I recently shipped all the boxes out. Since I'll soon be a senior, I am looking into schools and careers. In a few weeks I am traveling out to Colorado to visit the Air Force Academy, where I am considering applying. Some day I hope to become a military nurse.
OK, that's me in a nutshell. To all My Soldiers who are reading this, God Bless you! Thank you SOOO much for your sacrifices! To Marty and the AnySoldier gang, you are a blessing to the troops and to those of us who seek to support them. Thanks for all your hard work to keep this site up.

Hi ya'all I'm Sherri - Yea i'm from the south Live in Texas and have been coming to this site for several years and send packages to the marines. It started out as a project at the company I work for but as most folks do they tend to forget and after 2 years the project kinda stopped. Well it may have from work but not for me. I have our third bedroom set up as my command station. Hubby finally refused to eat in the livingroom any more so I had to move my mini warehouse from the dining room! THEN a little over a year ago our only son enlisted in the Marines. Remember the phrase "he enlisted - his parents got drafted" that's exactly how it goes! I couldn't be prouder or more scared. He's getting ready for a deployment to the sandbox soon. I have 4 boxes ready to go.
Believe it or not after a year and a half we still keep in contact with his recruiter - Adam. As a matter of fact he'll be joining us for a deepsea fishing trip in the next couple of weeks when T is home for pre-deployment leave. Adam was a god send as far as recruiters go. Most mom's hate their son's recruiter. Me? I love the guy! If it weren't for Adam I would have never made it through boot camp. He went so above and beyond what a recruiter normally does.
I love this site and have made many pen pals through it. I have seen many guys and gals rotate home and back again. I do have to admit since T's PDS is Japan I haven't been to the site as much in the past 6 months - have been sending him the packages. I'm going to be sure to tell him abt this website so when they get over there they can join. He did tell me a few of the guys he's with never get packages or letters and I don't want to to hear that! All these young men and women nn to know they have support.
Ya'all take care

Hi Sherri! Thanks for the note...yeah, I would love to be a military nurse! I just arrived in Colorado Springs after a 25 hour drive, and I'm going to check out the air force academy on Monday. As I drove out here (or, rather, as my parents drove,) I found myself writing to my Soldiers and even packing up a box for one of them along the way! All ye who read this be warned...this is one addictive sight!
God bless our men and women in uniform!

What an amazing group of people! I'm so proud to be here My name is Kristen, I'm married with 2 boys ages 5 and 3. I work part-time as a fund raiser for a major medical center near my home in Northern New Jersey. I only found AnySoldier recently, by recommendation of a friend in IN who enjoyed putting packages together with her 5 yr old daughter. I had no idea that this site would be like the equivalent of crack for the heart... holy addictive!!! I almost feel like something is wrong with me, I just can't get enough LOL. The posts from the soldiers touch my heart so deeply, I'm so moved by their gratitude... it should be the opposite, it's WE who are grateful, right? What a fantastic circle to be stuck in, huh? I find myself wanting to send a big box to every soldier who posts... I've definitely got a bigger imagination than wallet, and I've totally redifined my answer to the question "If I had a million dollars..." I finally found a way to spend less on scrapbooking supplies (my other favorite passion), though this is probably not exactly the solution my husband had in mind. Fortunately he's 100% on board! I'm so glad I found this place, I have felt for a long time that I needed to find a way to make a difference. I can hardly imagine a more important effort. Thank you so much to Marty, Brian and family for this gift. The soldiers are working to keep our world and our country safe for MY boys... and they don't even know us. It finally feels like I can repay them ever so slightly for that sacrifice. Kristen

Hi.....I just decided to join this forum and introduce myself. I've been on AnySoldier.com for about a year now and have become a bit of a junkie, too, I guess. Like so many others of you, I was just going to do.....maybe one or two....but then I found myself, every time I was in Target or Walmart, looking at things and thinking....hmmmmmm, I know someone in Iraq or Afghanistan could use this.......or this is a good snack that won't melt in the desert heat.....and my dining room table was beginning to pile up with stuff. Every few days I'd be at the post office with a couple of boxes and letters to mail. I finally told myself I have to get this under control.....and so I'm trying to just concentrate on a few at a time. It's great to get an email or a snail-mail note, from a new-found friend. We've even had the opportunity to meet one of our soldiers when she returned to the states and are still keeping in touch with her, happy that now her husband has also returned home!!
OK, so, who am I? I just retired after 26 years working at our local high school, and have time on my hands, now!! I have two grown daughters, one of whom is married to a career Army man. My son-in-law is currently attached to the New Jersey National Guard and was recently promoted to First Sergeant. Yes, we are very proud of him! He was deployed to the Sinai two years ago and now.....who knows what will happen next?
I'd like to post a picture here, but I don't know how to do it, so once I figure that out, I will.
Meanwhile, this is a great website and thank you Marty, for it. You are doing a great job!!
