G'day! I'm from Australia. I've recently come across this website and was instantly compelled to join and help. There's nothing like this that I've been able to find for our Australian soldiers, but I'm pleased to help out wherever I can. I'm not sure how we'll go sending packages from here, but I can talk the leg off an iron pot so I will do my best to keep the letters rolling in!
Any tips from Aussies who may have sent things to Anysoldier contacts would be appreciated!

Hi, my name is Terry. I've been in Texas since 1977, Dallas, since 78. About a month ago, I was trying to get rid of a mess of books and some fleece panels. About 25 of the panels are for 4 different branches of service. I was having difficulty using the site, as it wasn't very easy to figure out what they wanted. Thank you, Marty, for making this site so easy to navigate. It is very intuitive and I really appreciate it! Anyway, I posted an SOS and heard back from a very nice lady from San Francisco. She had been using the site for a few years, so was very helpful. Barbara told me about AnySoldier.com and I haven't been able to stay away. In fact, Iused up all 10 of my address requests in less than a week. And because I have insomnia, I was on it every night. Marty was not kidding when he said it was addictive. I had no idea. I contacted a friend of mine to get some product for me, (she owns a store) and when she brought it to me, I told her all about this site. Now I've unleashed a dynamo on the poor unsuspecting populace of Shawnee, OK. She has been talking to everyone she knows, getting them to donate products, services and has really come up with some very clever ideas. Me, I just shop all over the place stocking up on stuff to send my guys. I even had an ex-colleague of mine give me a crash course on ebony hair care and what products to buy. Then she liked it so much, she not only bought $80 of hair care products for me to send, she wanted to know where the site was. And I was ready, because only having been a junkie for less than a month, I had already ordered a set of cards that say, "Support our Troops" AnySoldier.com. People are always asking me why I buy 50 toothbrushes or 20 travel bottles of Axe deodorant. So now I have a card to give them while I tell them about the site. I am almost finished converting our dining/living room into my office/craft room. It's starting to look like a PX, (only maybe bigger). I have a Foodsaver, so I can pack a pretty mean box. And I can fill out the paperwork in a flash. We got a new postman, and I've been training him on how to process a Military FRB! So that's kind it. Needless to say, I don't have any probs writing letters!

And you're my bestest friend! I'm the "dynamo"(?) she has unleashed on the unsuspecting small town of Shawnee, OK. I've unleashed the girl who works for us on our customers, particularly the female ones and we now have a collection box for female stuff in the floor of my store!
Terry got me hooked but good and I love not only this site, but the fact that so many people are willing to help our guys.

Hey Everyone! My name is Caroleen, everyone calls me Ce Ce. Several years ago, not long after September 11, I was watching television and they we're talking about care packages. I really wanted to help, but being a middle school student I didn't exactly have the funds to do so. It was that same day I got a call saying one of my family friends was headed to Kuwait. I emailed him when I could, but it didn't seem like enough. In the summer of 2007, I decided I would adopt a couple of soldiers, more so as penpals. I saw how much they enjoyed my letters and decided to do more, on September 11, 2007, I started a club at school called Operation Adopt A Soldier. About 50 students agreed to write soldiers and help me spread the word to "Support the Troops" in our community. After successful fundraisers a few of us sent care packages and bought t-shirts to spread the word even more. Now, as a college freshman, although I am making changes to Operation Adopt A Soldier, so we can be more productive, I look forward to bringing my club to college. I've used several organizations to adopt soldiers, but they also made care packaging for the group nearly impossible. Four days ago I decided to try out the organization I had come accross time and time again, anysoldier.com I've adopted 3 Airmen from my state of Ohio, and look forward to being apart of this community. If all goes well, I hope my club can help the efforts of anysoldier.com
Check out my club and feel free to give me advice, www.myspace.com/opadptasoldier
Thanks for all you do for our troops and thanks for all the tips in the forums and chat. Very helpful!!!
